Effective Cost Cutting...or Is This Being Cheap??

Effective Cost Cutting...or Is This Being Cheap??

I want to stay within budget for my invitations:

There are alot of FH's friends (the kind that 'haven't matured yet' ) that will definitely not make it to our wedding (they live in FL). I was thinking...can I splurge on really awesome invitations for the majority of our guestlist and get budget (cheap) invitations for the silly boys who don't care about weddings? Or am I just being cheap by wanting to do this?

If I'm being cheap let me know, I need to be put in my place lol

Considering that they sound like some of my FH's friends (who complained about another friend's wedding invite, saying it was 'as big as a hamburger')...I'd say get them cheapy ones from Michael's. They're not going to care either way, and it's not like they'll be oooh-ing and aaah-ing over the invites with other guests, should they actually attend the wedding.

How many friends are we talking about? The reason I ask is because if it's under 20 then I think its a waste of money to buy them dif invites.

for that number, I would say just send them the reg invites....if you were going to say like 20-30, then yeah I would say go for it!

I say go for it. If they're babies, they won't care anyway. not cheap at all, but i'd say get something similar.

Depends on how much you are saving. If it's a decent amount of money-- go for it. They'll never know the difference,. If it's a small amount...it's probably not worth your time

i think if its about 20 invites or so then do it, if its like 5 or 10 then just do regular invites.

Go for it. I have to send out over 200 invites and I have alot of family who just don't care, but i have to send anyway so they are getting cheap one. That way when family talks they will say they have one.

i don't think its worth it for so few invites. your not going to be able to find a package that small & then its going to take up your time & printer ink to make them. it could end up costing more in the end.

agreed-- you're not going to reduce the amount of the nicer invites. usually they are ordered in groups of 25-50

do it - make them on vista print!

I'm doing the same for FH's friends who could care less in the get an actual invitation. I bought DIY invites and I plan to give them those instead of my very expensive girly invitations that they will just lose.
