Effin Swine Flu in Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm livid. My honeymoon is ruined. And I feel like it is impossible for me and FH top travel to Mexico in June w this deathly flu in Mexico City.

Now we will loose our 900 air and have to look elsewhere. This *****

Any other Mexico honeymooners concerned?

Sorry to hear that We haven't booked yet (we were going to wait until after the wedding to do so) but we still had intentions of going to Cancun. I didn't even care about the drug wars, but this would truly deter us from going there. This whole thing really stinks.

I don't even know what to say myself. I feel defeated....drug wars definately didn't make me budge bu this? 88 people died in Mexico City according to the news tonight.

Uggggh so now we have to call our travel agent after he just hooked us up with extras.

Out HM was such a great deal. Now I feel like we r gonna pay a rediculous amount for somthing to replace the honeymoon we had.

I hear ya...it is very scary! We are booked in Mexico too, but in November, so we're going to wait it out and see what happens. I see you don't really have much time to wait it out. I am sure you can find a great place to go that is not too expensive. What about Aruba? That will be our second choice if we have to switch from Mexico.

Where in Mexico is this happening? I just switched my HM from DR to mexico so if this f ucks up our HM plans im going to scream!!

Kids who go to St. Francis Prep in Queens went down there and brought it here - I heard no school there on Monday and Tuesday - so scary

i have my honeymoon in Mexico. I am not too worried about it. the area i am going isn't affected right now. we'll have to play it by ear.

Okay, that is the area we are going to also!

it definitely is something to be concerned about if you were going to mexico city or something, but as long as you are careful and washing your hands, being aware of sanitation i don't think its a problem. they are being really cautious about food now so we'll see. the only people that have died from it were because they only sought medical attention after it was VERY advanced. and all the cases in the US - the people are fine. as long as they went to the doc right away.

I wouldn't panic yet. THere are people in this country with it and they are fine. THe outbreaks are in inner city areas.....I have 2 friends that have been in Mexico (resort areas) for the last 10 days and no one is sick.

and stay away from birds....they said this might be a combo of bird and swine....no pigs or birds and you'll be al good

ugh i'm worried about it too. We are going to Puerto Vallarta, but my parents said not to worry since it's on the opposite side of Mexico.

yea a HS in queens goes to cancun for their senior trip. and 1 kid got it and it affected the whole school. now so many kids have it( i barely read the article but im sure if u look up st.francis prep in queens u can find it)

I am so pi$$ed right now we are supposed to go in less then a month and now this happens I dont know what to do I dont want to get sick and I def dont want to be sick on my HM I will call my TA tomorrow and see what she thinks

and they are doing a lot of extra precautions so as long as you are careful i think it will be ok. they are going out of there way to sanitize things and make sure ppl are being safe.
