Elena Bridal Couture Rave (Long post)

My sister got married this past Saturday and I had to commend Elena Bridal in Merrick for going above and beyond on my dress and my mom's dress. They really saved the day.

I ordered my dress from a different bridal shop. There were no problems with the ordering process, but I did have problems with the alterations. The seamstress was never there when I went for fittings. Instead, the owner would pin the dress. At my first fitting, I asked that the seam be eased a bit at the hip to avoid showing a panty line. She told me that it didn't need to be eased and that if I work Spanx it would be fine.

At my second fitting, I wore Spanx and still had a panty line. I asked again to have the seam eased. She told me that I should just not wear underwear for the day of the wedding! After a bit of a back and forth, she finally agreed to ease the seam. At my last fitting, the straps had been pulled up much too short, affecting the fit of the dress. Since everything was pulled up too high, the bodice was very tight and I couldn't breathe.

At that point, the wedding was only about a week and half away, so I took the dress. Tracy at Elena agreed to have their seamstress look at the dress to see what could be done. She was able to fix the dress very quickly and at a reasonable price. They could not have been more accommodating -- especially since the dress was not purchased there.

They were equally amazing with my mom's dress. Her dress had been ordered from a now-closed bridal shop. It arrived about 3 weeks before the wedding and fit terribly. It was much too big on her and did not look right at all. Even the cups were placed incorrectly, making her bust look lopsided. Again, Tracy agreed to fit her into their busy scheduled and to get the alterations done on short notice. They basically had to take the dress apart and put it back together again. Thanks to them, my mom looked amazing.

I can't say enough about how hard they worked (when they didn't have to) to make sure everything was perfect.
