engagement ring HELP!

Re: engagement ring HELP!

My friend and her fiance, who are very socially conscious, worked with a local artisan (in Washington DC, otherwise I would share the contact info!) to create a ring to her liking. It is sterling silver and has a blue stone in it. What she loves is that it is unique to them, and they supported a local artist. You might want to look into doing something like that - your ring should bring you happiness whenver you look at it and I'd hate to see you settle!

My ring is 1 carat total. FH wanted a 'bigger' ring, but then he would have had to sacricie on the other c's. My color is H, Clarity is SI2. The cut is Round Brilliant. What makes my ring so sparkly is that the optimal brilliance is excellent meaning that it reflects light perfectly.

ETA...yes it's on a pretzel LOL

Re: engagement ring HELP!

I want to thank everyone!!!!! You really, really helped me a lot. I went to my mom's yesterday and looked at my grandmother's ring again which was left for me. It's princess and like the exact style that I like, so I'm just going to use that!!! I wasn't sure at first, but this way I'm not buying a diamond (I don't like the diamond industry), and it's very meaningful, and saves us money that can be spent elsewhere!

I'm excited. It's very simple, but it fits me very well. Thanks again for all the help. This will be helpful to know in the future with the wedding ring! Thanks again.

And i have to say, I love all of your rings.

Now, the fun part...when will he propose and how. heheh And then the wedding planning. All the information on this site is GREAT!

I'm not a huge fan of diamonds and the diamond industry either, so Jon custom designed mine for me.

It's a blue sapphire with diamonds on each side, but the diamonds are from his grandmothers ring, so I don't have to have any blood on my hands from it.

Oohh I love that BrooklynBride. I feel the same about the diamond industry, which is why I think having my grandma's ring is going to be the best for us!

FH had my ring custom made... It's a princess cut set in an eternity pave band. The center stone is princess cut, the color is F and clarity is VS2.

He went to Good Old Gold in Massapequa, told them exactly what he wanted and they made it... they are also making my wedding band custom to match.

Some people have said they are more money but they definitely negotiate. I went there with a friend of mine when he was looking for his fiance's ring and they came down A LOT to get within his budget.

FM if you want any other info.

Good luck!
