Engagement Ring Poll: Part 1

Did FH have any help picking out your ring?

Did you drop some hints? (ex: I want round, I want a solitaire, I want a low setting, etc)

Did you tell a friend in case FH asked?

Did you pick it out with him?

Nope, it was all me. I'm very particular, and he wouldnt have had a clue what to do.

FH took his long time best friend leigh to help him pick it out.

She wouldn't allow him to even look at anything less than a carat. That's her taste. I would have been fine with half that.

Now, I have turned into a diamond Wh@re!

he picked it out all by himself... the only thing i had told him was that I like princess cut....

we shopped around together, then found a diamond at good old gold that we (OK , I) loved, so we looked at setting, and he had 3 settings to choose from, all very different. i loved each one, but the one he got me was my fave, and i gave him no hints as to which was my fave. since i picked out the diamond, i wanted to be a little surprised w/ the final ring.

It's his mothers ring. He used her diamonds and just got a new band.

FH asked me what kind of ring I would like and I said I had no idea (I didn't!) and then I obsessed over it for weeks trying to decide.

In the end we picked out my ring together.

He told me he started looking (worst thing he ever did ) and wanted to make sure it was something I really liked. So we went one day and I tried on a bunch and we both decided on a emerald center stone. That was the only part I picked out. He did everything else. I love it!

I told him what cut I liked , carat 'suggestions' haha, and band ( pave, platinum) but the actually diamond and setting he selected himself, and totally blew me away !

Every time I got complimented on my ring, people ask me if FH picked it. No way. He does a great job buying me jewelry but there's no way he would have picked the ring I wanted.....!!!

FH and i talked a lot about diamonds and settings - he did it all on his own though without me coming with him or trying anything on

I told Fh what I wanted, but he also knows I always have to be different, so he picked out something totally unique!! And I loooove it!! LOL I do love having things that are different!

FH and I went to the diamond district to have me try on some bands, he wanted to get an idea of what might look good on my finger, there were a couple of styles that I liked, but I kept it to myself and in the end FH picked the one that I had loved the most and it was perfect!! Well the only thing I told him straight out was that I wanted a round solitare, the rest was all him.
