Re: ENTERTAIN ME!
I took a Spanish conversation class where we watched a series of videos called 'En Segovia' where Ramiro y Isabel (pronounced 'ITHABEL') used to have 'THITAS ' all the time.

Posted by Goldi1021 I am Boricua by association. Actually, I took Spanish from Jr HS through college and paid attention. I understand when spoken slowly and I suppose I could get by well. Though I learned Castillian(sp) or the more formal spanish.
How cool! Oh yes...el español Castellano - what our lovely Spaniards speak...no 'zetas' there...
Posted by hmpena My grandmother once told me in English, 'Ay, Hollie, no be nasty for God!' It was one of the funniest things she ever said!
That is absolutely adorable...I could just picture her! Mine still lives in PR so she doesn't speak English..
My grandmother tries so hard to speak English. She is the cutest! She recently came back from Paraguay (where my family was from) and said that she missed speaking English. It was adorable.

Yeah and I was taught that 'sucio(a)' meant 'dirty' but not in a bad way. I suppose every country is different.
Sucia, if you call a woman that, is the equivalent to c unt in English. I hate that word!
I understand now and thank you for telling me. So how do you say 'dirty?'

The same way...sucio... It's only when it's directed at a woman as an insult (like if you want to call her a puta) that it becomes the 'c' word.

Just so ya know, the 3 wick candle that FH bought for me had a nice little leak and lets just say I am forever grateful that I had a place mat on the table or Leslie and Ed would be living in a pile of ashes.

I love her! And I like that she named her daughter Apple...this is my theory, and call me crazy if you must but...
Her dad's name was 'Alan'. He passed away. It's customary to name a newborn using the first letter of a deceased relative's name to honor them. The letter in this case was 'A'. 'A' is for 'Apple', simple as day. Wholesome, pure. When you think of the letter 'A' you think 'Apple', no? She wanted to keep it as wholesome and pure as possible.
Does this make sense to anyone else?
OK...I'm logging off!
