ugh--i HATE when people make u feel like you are doing something cheapo or something at a wedding by giving you the 'look' for only having 3 options! i mean HELLOOO you are paying for them to come and celebrate the day with you and they have the AUDACITY to question how much food will be there?????
grrrrrrrrr----sorry, but that just angers me. but to answer your question--we're also have 3

Re: Entree Choices
We are having 3 - we could add a 4th for a price. Actually a lot of places I looked at only had 2!

How many entree choices are you having (did you have)? Right now, we have 3 but when I mention this to certain people in my family, I get the look like 'only three'...I guess I never paid attention at other weddings but I always assumed 3 was the norm (ya know, 1 meat, 1 poulty, 1 fish)....I'm sure I can add more choices but that will mean more $$ - Is it necessary??? TIA
What do they mean only three!!!!? Do they know how much a wedding costs these days? There is nothing wrong with 3 choices and you are not being cheap - 3 choices is plenty!!

Re: Entree Choices
Well I can understand why the woman might be surprised, I thought many places in Long Island offer more than 3 choices?
When I was shopping around for Jersey sites, alot were offering 3, but was pleasantly surprised to find alot of places in LI offering 4-7 choices. That's what made me come here to have the wedding, I think having alot of choices is great, especially when you must add in a veggie entree - that pretty much means you gotta remove poultry, seafood or red meat. Three options that are standard.
That being said, I dont think it's cheap to have only 3 options.

Three is the norm. I wouldnt let your family upset you about it. If they dont like it, they dont have to eat. You can't pls. everyone.

Re: Entree Choices
I have a friend who is in the catering business. The first thing he told me when I started looking for a catering hall was to ask how many entree choices they offer.
He said if it is more than 3 or 4, then most likely they partially cook all the food before the event and cook the remainder of it after the orders are taken. There is less of a chance that the food is made fresh when ordered.
We are having 4 choices (incl. veggie). I dont think you have anything to worry about.
Good luck!

Re: Entree Choices
also, my sister is at lombardi's on the sound and she has 7 options-- which is really cool and it came included in the price. i'm not sure if they would have let her limit them to save money or not-- but it's cool that she has seven however i would NEVER feel like three (which is pretty common) was too LITTLE-- i mean, that's a little silly... three is plenty. something for everyone.

Re: Entree Choices
3 is fine, sometimes less is more. I went to a wedding a we had seven choices. Everyone was confused on what to order. Dont get me wrong, seven is nice but 3 is fine.

Don't you just love people!? It's a wedding! What do they want? Most places I looked at between NJ, CT and NY were 2-3.
