u can probably get them dont at a nail salon.
The one my me was pretty good- I only got my lip done, but it didnt hurt and wasnt red after. (Its on merrick road on the massapeqa/amityville border)
Or- you can just grab a tweazer and have at it..lol (it doesnt hurt as bad as u would think)
Yes - but in that case you'd have to have an idea of what you're doing!!!!(to do them yourself)
I'll check out the place on montauk highway....that's merrick right??
yup- montaulk hwy= merrick road=main street- its all the same road. Im not sure on the exact name, but its just past County line road in a shopping center on the left.
There is a Giovannis pizza and a big cleaners in the shopping center. I can get the name for you if you are interested. Its nothing special, just a little nail salon.

tweezing the upper lip OOOUUCCHH- YOWSERS!!
The brow doesnt hurt too much. It also helps a bit that I do it often so there is never much to tweeze.

Its too dark for your eyes, you have pretty colored eyes and a lighter shade would look nice and make your eyes pop. You must of been tired sitting for 3 hours. Was she trying diff colors on you?

Yes - we were doing different colors & we were trying to get the foundation to be the right color. I washed my face like 4 times!!!

ok i am not loving it
i feel when i wear my glasses i can go a bit more 'dramatic' bc the glasses kind of take away . . . so i think you can go more dramatic
the colors arent blended great either - i think they need a little more blending. . .
AND after getting your eyebrows cleaned up a bit - use a nice eyebrow brush and define them! i cant do this myself but that is what i feel makes such a difference when getting makeup professionally done!

honestly i don't like the color of the eyeshadow..i think you would look great with a bronze or plum Ithink that may be too dark and is covering up your eyes

Was this your first trial? Did you book this person? I would book like 2 more trials to compare bec if she didnt know what shade foundation was right for you and you had to wash your face 4 times, I dont think this person knows what she is doing. Sorry

She knows what she's doing. The problem is getting it right for my skin. It kept flaking - which is just because i have VERY dry skin...so we were trying different types of foundation....powder, cream, regular, etc.
This was my second trial with her....the first time i didn't like the eyes too much - so we focused mainly on my eyes..

I agree with Laura about the shimmer and also about your brows.. When they are fixed up.. it makes a huge difference!
I think the shimmer will make your eyes pop more.. This might sound mean.. but if it took her 3 hours to come up with that look.. I don't think you should use her for your day of makeup.. sorry if that was rude.. I just think you could find someone who can make your features stand out better

I think the dark makeup over the lid makes your eyes recede and look smaller. I think you need something to brighten the eye, esp if you'll be wearing glasses.

Re: EYE MAKEUP - YAY or NAY??
hi, i know i'm a little late chiming in but i totally agree with what the other girls are saying. i think the eyebrows are key actually. i remember the first time somebody tweezed mine in college and it was like night and day...it will definitely give you more lid.
if you can't find somewhere to get them done, you can always stop by sephora and get one of those eyebrow grooming kits by anastascia (she's some famous eyebrow lady in l.a.). the kit gives you and outline so you know exactly where to tweeze and where not to! here's the link
i also think plum colors would look great on your eyes instead of the brown. you look fantastic in your glasses naturally so you don't need a whole lot of color going on under there....i would go with plum/purples on your eyes, a little blush and a natural lip color.
sorry to ramble on...i'm obsessed with makeup! :)

I'm sorry - but I'm not loving it.
You have these GORGEOUS eyes and she did nothing to make them stand out.
They need to be more dramatic, but I think she went with dark=dramatic..and thats where she went wrong.
The color isn't bad, its pretty actually..but it just looks like the whole lid is one color. This technique does NOTHING for anyone. A true makeup artist knows how to blend colors so that if gives you definition.
To define small lids..you have to put a darker color only in the crease..blend it out a little past the eye. Then put a shimmery nude color on the lid. Dramatize it with lots of black eyeliner and lashes. I promise you..you will look stunning.
Also, like the other girls said..shaping your brows makes a WORLD of difference. Brows shape your whole face.
Some examples: We have similar color eyes.. I don't have on false lashes and I have sucky lashes so use your imagination for that part!
Thank you for that!!! I appreciate the pics!! I'm going to send them to her!!! Maybe i'll even go back to the first person who did my makeup - the hair girl (pics in album) - i liked that day's makeup better!!!

Your makeup looks BEAUTIFUL in those pics...Your face looks very 'glowy'..I likes it!!
The only thing I would suggest and its only because of personal taste, is putting a nude gloss over the lipstick just to add light to your lips and make them a little more sexy!

I agree about the gloss and I want to do a different color lipstick. I have to buy it - but i know what it is...
I think i'll do another trial with her - that's makeup by my mom's hair lady...

It's worth a shot! It looks like she did a great first trial. Just let her know you want more emphasis on the eyes and your good to go!!
