ALSO-i noticed that some places will go over the area more than once, never let them do this its really not good for you, its also when you'll rip some of the skin off and have a red mark. They should get it the first time and whatever they dont they should tweeze the rest but not wax the same area twice in a row
yeah, it's hard to know if people REALLY know what they are doing... i tell everyone that does it that i have sensitive skin and it never fails....

So, I have very sensitive skin and I stopped waxing my brows about 2 years ago because it was causing blisters on my skin. Someone recommended that I try threading since it involved no wax. Well, I tried it yesterday and although it was cool, it left small puss filled blisters above both of my eyebrows.
I'm SO sad. Every few months I need to have them shaped and I am now out of options. Anyone else have any recommendations?
I have similar problems with waxing. I get don't get blisters, but I do get red bumps that take days to go away. I have found the best thing is tweezing. It sux! Best option is to basically check them over every other day or so and kinda get the hairs 1 at a time. Less painful that way!

You said this was your first tmie going to get treaded right? AS reputable as most of there hair places are, some of the threads that they use, they use on other people as well.Maybe it could have just been a bad reaction to that one time?? Just a thought. Becuase when I go to wax, I make sure and tell the lady, a new stick for me please. I dont know who's dirty out there.

Yeah, I agree. I always ask for a new stick, and with the threading, i saw her take off a new peice for me and there was a TON of thread on the floor, so I'm assuming everyone gets a new piece

thats the problem and its not just the stick its the wax itself, i mean people get waxed and the stick goes in there after they get waxed so thats why. Im the only one who uses my wax. I also NEVER get red after, no bumps or anything. But like i said i also put a gel on after, and the few times i ran out of the gel i put Milk on a cotton pad and put that over it for a few mins

Damn you are right. I didnt think about that.. What's the purpse of using a new stick but not wax. You're right. I usally just put some cold cream on my skin and its good after a while.
You might want to look into treading one time yelly. try putting on some oil before you do it to soften the hair and make it easier. if that doesnt work then stick with the tweezing.
Overall though how the h e c k do you guys deal with treading? I cant take that pain

milk is also amazing for sunburns, works better than aloe vera. LOL i get it all these home remedy things from my mom. Also the whole waxing and other beauty things i get from her, she owned her first salon when i was a little girl so always was around that.

No way jose. With the wax, it's a one two three pull . treading - it feels like there cutting my skin apart. i hate it.

oh no not at all, i save alot of money by never having to pay for waxing(which i need every 2 weeks lol) nails, pedicure, hair coloring, cuts lol. Here and there ill go to other places to get my hair done-never color though usually like getting it curled or something like that if i cant make it into the city, but i also find alot of city places arent good with curls and updo's and things like that.

Re: Eyebrow threading
I always break out in red bumps too when I get waxed and even when I thread my eyebrows but not as bad as you get. Ouch!! My friend said to try aloe right after but that didnt work for me. Maybe it will for you.

Hmmm that's a tough one. I guess your best bet is to find a good place that does tweezing and try to keep up with it every week.
And what about laser? I am not sure how it works but I think it's permanent.
I don't want anything permanent. I'm good at keeping it up, but every 4-6 months or so, I need to get them cleaned up a little. I guess I'll have to just ask around and see if anyone does just tweezing
thanks
so electrolosis(spelling??) is out?

you'd think that because it is the city everyone would be amazing... I had an amazing hair lady who was really expensive, but gave the best haircut ever and she moved to NC in March and I was freaking out looking for a new hair person. I finally found one and she gave me a great cut (and super cute short choppy bangs, which no other haior person could do) and I'm happy with her. I might even consider her to color my hair. I'm so picky when it comes to my hair, so when i find someone good, I'm willing to pay... kwim?

Yeah, because if I eventually want to change the shape or make them thicker, I'm kinda screwed.
But thanks for the suggestion!

i wouldnt recommend electrolosis, they only do a few hairs at a time and you have to constantly keep going back to get the whole thing done, it was popular years ago but everyone does laser now, its alot easier, doesnt hurt and they do the whole area at once...but even if i would never use that method for eyebrows, youll never be able to reshape your eyebrows

Re: Eyebrow threading
Danielle-if you go only 4-6 months(WOW I ENVY YOU) would you be willing to go to someone who tweezes them and its about $50 the first time and then $35 after...Theres this guy and he is knows as THE guru and the best there is, he does ALL the celebrities and ive seen him on so many shows, he was even on fabulous life of celebrities on VH1. He is opening up a salon in NYC this october, hes been in LA all this time. There might be a special going on though for the opening
