So, I have very sensitive skin and I stopped waxing my brows about 2 years ago because it was causing blisters on my skin. Someone recommended that I try threading since it involved no wax. Well, I tried it yesterday and although it was cool, it left small puss filled blisters above both of my eyebrows.
I'm SO sad. Every few months I need to have them shaped and I am now out of options. Anyone else have any recommendations?

Re: Eyebrow threading
WELL all the eyebrow gurus and those who do all the celebrities eyebrows do tweezing so im guessing its a good way to go...I cant take it or else i would do it lol
Do you put anything on after you wax? usually they put a gel on to prevent little whiteheads

When I was getting waxed, they usually put on baby oil, but nothing stopped the whitehead blisters. I figured it was the wax, so that is why I tried threading. I can't believe the blisters are back... When I pluck I NEVER get them. I just get really red for a few hours. I gues I have to do my research and see if there is someone on Long Island that does JUST tweezing...
thanks

no the oil wont do anything infact i dont know why they put oil your skin is supposed to be VERY DRY its better to put baby powder, theres a gel that helps this i put it on everytime after i wax. There are also different types of wax you can use, the golden type one is very popular but ones that are pink or blue or even this beige type color and better on your skin.

Re: Eyebrow threading
Hmmm that's a tough one. I guess your best bet is to find a good place that does tweezing and try to keep up with it every week.
And what about laser? I am not sure how it works but I think it's permanent.

I wouldnt do the laser for eyebrows if in the future you want to shape them differently then you're screwed. When i got laser the lady thought i wanted the top of my eyebrows lasered too and freaked out when she did it, and now im having trouble bc of it

Thanks, maybe I'll give that a try. I'm so glad I did this early. I was just going to get them threaded for the wedding without trying it first. Can you imagine? little white clisters on my wedding day? LOL

yea when they use the pink wax I'm usually ok, but you have to emphasize that you have sensitive skin so they're more gentle and make sure the wax isn't too hot

I don't want anything permanent. I'm good at keeping it up, but every 4-6 months or so, I need to get them cleaned up a little. I guess I'll have to just ask around and see if anyone does just tweezing
thanks

it is a good thing but they say anything new you want to try for the wedding try it out way in advance to see how your skin will react to it.
I know most salons in the manhattan do tweezing, not sure about Li but im sure there has to be a place. Again also ask if they have gels to put on after to prevent breakouts, i have it at home in case they dont have it and i can tell you what its called

Re: Eyebrow threading
ALSO-i noticed that some places will go over the area more than once, never let them do this its really not good for you, its also when you'll rip some of the skin off and have a red mark. They should get it the first time and whatever they dont they should tweeze the rest but not wax the same area twice in a row

yeah its permaneant...it messed up the shape a little bit and everytime i wax now its hard to get it to how it used to be, she only did it one time not everytime i went in to get laser so it should grow back but its taking forever
