Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

would you consider getting threading done? i live on 33rd and 3rd and i go to a threading place on 33rd between 3rd and Lex called Thread----they're really good....and i think it's only like $6 or $8 bucks----really reasonable.

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

I had threading done once and it HURT so bad. It hurt WAYYYYY worse than waxing and the girl made me bald - I mean BALD! I had like a row of single hairs that were supposed to comprise my eyebrows, it was scary!

If you can vouch for this place though perhaps I will try it again. I suppose it may have just been the place that I got it done. If threading was so terrible I dont think it would continue to be so popular, right?

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

Nailstown on 46th and Broadway.

They do an amazing job!

Seriosly - I cannot stand it when anyone makes my eyebrows too thin. They do a great job - I've been to at least 3 different people there and all did a fantastic job.

pressure!!! i mean, i can only vouch that i go there and my friend goes there and they've done good jobs on both of us!!! if you're very concerned about it being too thin, tell them to keep your eyebrows thick.

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

re: Waxing in Brooklyn, I've been going to Area on Smith Street in Carol Gardens.

They do a super nice job, for me this is for the wedding only, because it's pricey, $25?

Normally I just go to Spa Belles (one of the large nail chains) in Manhattan.

Good Luck

c

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

Sephora has an Anastasia station where they wax eyebrows? I knew they carried the kit, but I was not aware that they waxed eyebrows. Do you know how much it is?

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

Wow, I just looked it up and it's $32! I mean they pluck your eyebrows so it probably takes them more time and effort and I am sure it comes out great though. However, that is a little more than I wanted to spend on a regular basis for my brows. (I go every two weeks religiously). I think I am going to try threading again.

Re: Eyebrow waxing in NYC

I highly recommend threading. If you find a good place you'll love it too. You also have to tell them you just want them clean and shaped but not too thin, otherwise they'll go to town with your eyebrows! I go to a place in queens so it's not what you want but I do think you should give threading a second chance!
