Is anyone doing this? I've read it a couple of times on this site that girls will buy fake rings to wear on their honeymoons instead of wearing their real ones and risking something happening to it. I do not like the ideal, but at the same time I don't want to worry about it either since I plan on being on the beach and in the water a lot.
Ladies tell me what you think.

As much as it kills me to not wear the real thing - i am definitely getting a fake one... Even if it's insured I dont care, I'm not going to risk losing it and that will be one less thing I have to worry about.
I completely agree!! Thats my strategy ... I know I could get a replacement since its insured but its not the same... I love the meaning of my ring too much! :p

I think I will probably leave my rings at home and wear nothing at all on my honeymoon. I don't really have the extra cash to spend on a fake ring I will wear for one week only

Ill wear my real one. We just went to St Maarten, and I wore it there. I didnt take it off even when we were on the beach, at the pool, ect. Are you really more likely to lose it away, when you wear it every day anyway? I think you're probably more careless while at home, then away.

hmm that sounds like a good idea..my friend actually lost his ring scuba diving in Bali for his honeymoon. Despite the fact that he wore his ring on a chain around his neck, he lost the CHAIN! So maybe it is a good idea to wear a fake ring or leave your ring at home...

Either that or just make sure it's locked up while youre running around in the sand and water :)

Im not sure about this yet. One of my friends had a fake engagement ring made to look just like her ring, but her FIL is a jeweler. So I guess ill have to think about it

def wouldn't bring mine, I already have a fake that I wear on certain occasions because I fling my fingers aroundd haha. And i just wanna say you can get a fake at like macys or kohls for like 20$ it dosent have to be expensive.

I started to look for a fake.. but I don't think want to bother.. the ring is insured and if I lose it I lose it.. Like someone said earlier, I'd probably lose it easier at home than away.. I play softball and work out with it on.. I sleep with it on and shower with it more than half the time.. This is also my 2nd engagement ring, so I already had to deal with saying goodbye to the one with the sentimental value, somaybe thats why I'm willing to take the risk
I feel like I'd be more worried about being robbed outside the U.S. than losing it myself lol.. I'm going to the DR in 2 months and everyone's telling me to leave my ring home.. I still probably won't
