favors

i know this has been asked a million times.

ideas i've nixed:
- donation (we're doing one anyway, but don't want to do one for a favor)
- edible favors (except possibly wine)
- any placecard related item (we're doing a seating chart)

we want something fun and useful - no more than around $5 each

TIA

We're doing espresso cups

THe most used favor I have was actually from a TWOTY years ago. it's a tiny grater that said 'a grate love' on the box. I use it all the time. It's perfect for adding a little bit of cheese or ginger, etc to a dish when cooking for one or two. I use it ALL the time

I suggest going to Home Goods and looking around. I knew I wanted something to go with the beach theme I'm doing. I went there and found little fish plates and I'm adding to that. I was able to get 100 of the plates from there and they wever very very cheap. Take a look and use your imagination on what things you could use and think about what you would like to get as a gift.

Wait there's a Stew Leonards in Famingdale? ETA: I see it's not the foodstore...

I am doing a donation, but I figure if I were to do favors, it would be something people can use and not a nick-nack to collect dust. The only thing I use from a friends wedding are those heart shaped measuring spoons, but I know most of my friends don't use them. I also do not want to waste money, if the guests aren't going to use the gift. I like the edible food thing, truffles, mini cookies, etc.

We went in on Saturday and placed the order, they called me on Tuesday to say they were in. I haven't had a chance to pick them up yet, I'm planning on going on Saturday. I'll post pics.

They didn't give us a bulk discount, but still $2.99 for the 187oz bottles isn't terrible...and they are cork tops not the screw tops
