Sooo... I went to Bridal Reflections yesterday.. I had a really great experience there.

I found a dress that I love. Like LOVE LOVE LOVE

BUT- the bottom is feathers!!! I can't believe i like it because it is so out of control!!! But I DO!! I REALLY DO!

Now here is the question:
I think this trend will fall fast and HARD.
The woman yesterday said that every trend dies and you will look back and hate your dress no matter what LOL

But do i want to look back and say OMG i look like a peacock? What if in one year its out of style and then im screwed?
It is not a dress that most people will like.. I feel like only certain types of people like the style.

I know everyone says to dress for yourself but REALLY? dont you want everyone to say what a gorgeous dress you wore? What good is it if im the only one who thinks it looks good? LOL

I think it's so different and I know you were having a problem finding something you love so I say go for it!! I was going to tell you about grkbarbie's dress too but I see she already showed you! So pretty!!

If you're the kind of person that normally does it up, and wears things that other people might shy away from, then do it because it's you.

If YOU love it than get it! Don't worry about what everyone else thinks about it. You have to feel comfortable walking down the aisle no one else.

Plus you look awesome in the dress. It's a beautiful dress and so far I read that a 2009 and 2010 bride wore feathers so chances are it won't be out of season in 2011!!!

I like to do thinks out of the box and my mom is frequently rolling her eyes at me with all this wedding planning b/c I am so not traditional! I'll most likely try on a feather dress too and who knows ... you may not be alone!

I feel the same way if you love it get it!! I did not take alot of people with me when I ordered my dress - just nanny and mom bc I did not want a million opinions. I wanted to love my dress - I'm wearing it noone else is.. So do what you like. I know so many people that don't do what they want and regret it later!!

I love it.. You can definitely pulll it off.. And yeah maybe fad's die or whatever, but I am such a fan of different dresses and I think it looks great on you!! I would wear it

great review!! i was surprised seeing your dress too because I thought it was a maggie sottero dress and i was like wow its so different! you made the dress! it looked hot and the boq had details to match~ everything was beautiful Barb!

as far as 'fads go' the ballgown wedding dresses are VERY 90's early 2000's. each decade or so has a fad. we all can look at brides pics and narrow down around what yr the wedding took place. now im seeing more mermaid,and drop waist gowns.

heyy!!

Finding a dress was probably the most stressful part of wedding planning. I was ready to purchase 2 other dresses before I found 'my pet ostrich'.

I was in Bridal Reflections and I spotted the dress..and thought it was the ugliest dress I have ever seen. I decided to try it on, AS A JOKE. I put it on and walked out of the fitting room. As soon as I walked out a girl from HS was walking into her fitting room , looked at me and said 'omg, u better not get that dress, its gross'

welll......... i FELL IN LOVE. I didnt want to take it off. I stood in the store twirling around everytime the sales lady walked away.

I still hesitated because I knew it was veryyy different. I made another appt so my mom could see it. she didnt liek it at all. As soon as they unzipped the bag, 'oh no, are u serious?' she loved the top (surprised, since it was see thru ) but HATED the feathers. but i LOVE IT. and once i put it on, she kinda sorta liked it, too.

That dress was madee for me lol it was superrrr light, fluffy and had enough feathers where it wasnt overly obnoxious. Every single person that passed by me at my RH from other affairs stopped me and complimented me. The MC at my wedding told me my dress was the hottest dress hes seen in 20 yrs. HOLLA!!

try the dress on and see if you like it.. but i encourage you to GO ALONE!

DO NOT BRING PEOPLE WITH YOU TO LOOK AT DRESSES!!!!!!!!!!!!! other peoples opinions = problems.
