Do you girls sometimes feel fh isn't as romantic or thoughtful as you would like him to be? I don't know what it is lately..but i feel like fh isn't as romantic as he once was..we've been together for 7 years which could be why..but lately its been making me upset..i actually cried all morning about this..I feel like hes not as spontaneous as he was and not as quick to do really cute and unique things to surprise me..don't get me wrong i absolutely love the guy and overall hes great to me..but i just can't help feeling upset over this

very true denise! when i talked to him about this , he actually said that me not being romantic enough bothered him as well! so i have to find new and exciting ways to surprise him! any ideas!?!?
Random nudity always does the trick!!!
I think little note left around go a long way. I'm a big note-leaver-in-his-lunch kinda gal... he loves it and save every single one.
this is a great idea..only problem is we don't live together yet!!!
How about staying at a hotel for the night

Well, put it away for when you do live together!!! Kristin, he lives in his own apt though, right? So leaving work early and sneaking into his apt. to make a nice romantic dinner might be fun... and happen to be nude when he walks in too... LOL! Romantic and spontaneous!
good idea! and yes he does have an apartment!! i didn't think about that!

Re: feeling bummed out
YES!! But I think its because we expect soo much from them, especially now that we are getting married, and think omg if he isnt romantic I will never be surprised ever again, something to this effect. But believe me you don't want to be surprised all the time, because then its not as special when he does do it!

Re: feeling bummed out
I totally cannot identify with you at all b/c FH has never been romantic a day in his life! He threw my engagement ring at me in a baseball! This is his idea of romance

Re: feeling bummed out
I agree with what everyone is saying. MOST girls I know feel this way - even at multiple times throughout the relationship. I sometimes get like this and just say I'm in a FUNK. My FH is great, but sometimes he just needs to be 'reminded' about all the romantic stuff too... I think as woman we constantly are surrounded/ reminded of all romantic gestures that guys can/should/could/would do. Guys, on the other hand, just have other things on their mind- work, stress, etc... We just need to remind them or SPARK it (as someone said a night in, massages, etc). It's ok to initiate that. And, yes... pay attention to the little things because those can mean so much more than the superficial 'romantic gestures' such as flowers, candy, etc.... I think

i think this is totally normal and i know i have gone through it too MANY times in the past ten years, every relationship goes through cycles - dont let it get you down!

Re: feeling bummed out
Wow - sounds exactly like what I've been feeling also
My FH and I have also been together 7 years, living together for 1 year now....
And, from what I remember - dating him was so much more exciting, romantic, etc.
I did mention it to him and he seemed to feel bad about it - like he doesnt even realize....
And the more I think about it - I used to be more romantic too - so I'm planning on stepping up my game, so he will to - it takes TWO
And the more I think about it - I realize that a relationship - one which has been for so long will always need some help ... I think it's natural to happen, but work at it and it should change.

Sometimes just a random text message or email saying you love him is all that's needed
