What industry is he in? Maybe I can help.

FH has always worked in clerical, customer service, administrative positions. He's open to really anything. His last few jobs were 'contract' positions so his resume looks horrible because each job he was at for about a year, but they were never permanant positions. So it looks like he can't stay anywhere long term but thats not the case at all.

has he tried going through a head hunter or even a temp agency?

He's been in contact with a bunch of temp agencies, hes worked with them before, but so far no one has anything.

I'm so sorry you're going through this...maybe I can help. I work in Human Resources for a health center in Union Square and I have a ton of juice with a lot of employment agencies and hospitals. I don't know what kind of clerical experience FH has , but I wouldn't mind shopping his resume around for you. My center has a few openings but they're up in Hyde Park, Kingston, New Paltz, etc. If this would be helpful to you and FH, let me know.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Fh is looking for a new job too. The market is lousy right now.

I know how rough this is...When Justin was going through this we searched: Monster, Careerbuilder, and Craigslist daily. We also networked a ton... It's rough, but you gotta keep at it.

Try the big companies: Canon, CA (Computer Associates), Verizon, National Grid.

I also noticed that writing cover letters helped, but was a big pain in the a$$. And Justin had a different resume for each type of job (clerical, customer service, etc).

Canon ain't doing sh*t. i'd hate to be working for them right now with all the cutbacks they did.
