FH and I are fighting... - EDIT w/ background, sorry - Long

Original post by Clover23

Did your FH (or will he) come with you to see the sample centerpieces?

ETA: He made the samples appointment for us for friday night, night before my shower, because he thought it would be a nice way for me to get 'in the mood' for the shower and get my mind off work.
today he sends me an email as i'm in the middle of trying to leav emy office to go to the dr. and he's like 'could you find it in your heart to let me out of the appointment friday night? notre dame MIGHT be in the big east semi finals and GM might come down from boston and we'd try to go to the game'

So i said id call him bc i had to get out the door.

I call him and i tell him that i really wanted him to be there for the appt bc i value his input and he expressed a lot of opinions about the flowers the last time we went.

He FLIPPED out. I mean FLIPPED out. Screaming. Telling me that wasn't the 'right answer' and that he clearly signed himself up for a life of misery and what did he get himself into... on and on and on and on. And still going on. And I'm so upset because all i did was tell him honestly how i felt. I even suggested a COMPROMISE (wow what a foreign word) that if he really wanted to go to the game (which ND might not even make it to) he could call and change the appointment to a time more convenient for him to go with me, and that way we'd both be happy. but NOOOOOO that wasn't good enough.

FH has no input in flowers, I dont see the point in antagonizing him any more because he already hates the idea of the wedding, period. When I mentioned I had florist appointments, all he said was 'oh ok. well have fun! whatever you pick I am sure it will look nice...I dont really know or care about flowers hon.'

FH def overreacted though - but at least he didn't tell you he didnt want to get maried like FH burst out a few weeks ago when he started to feel stressed out!!!

umm souinds like something else might be going on? is there any other reason why he might have flipped out like that?

ummmm let's see. as far as i know, the driving range was 'too crowded' when he got there so he turned around and went home.

also his allergies hit him like a ton of bricks yesterday.

Sick boys are such big babies. I bet he's just cranky but WOW that was uncalled for.

Agreed. Neel gets MAJORLY cranky when his allergies act up. Sometimes nasty-cranky.

I'm not excusing it at all - it's really kinda shocking when they get like that - but it could be a reason. They're big freak babies when they're sick.

Seriously- FH stayed home sick today and he got so mad (I mean slamming doors kinda mad!) at me when I said I wouldn't go to the store to pick him up cigarettes. He stayed home because he coughing up a lung!!!

um i dont understand why its fair for manly men to get sick and then take it out on their fiancees. mine does that whenever he is stressed or sick. its all my fault. dont worry elizabeth, u didnt do anything wrong!

He did not come with me to book the florist or to see the work she has done. My mom did instead, because I felt she would like it more than he would. It really does not phase me. I am sorry that fh blew up on you like that.

It's his time of the month.

Mood swings, nastiness, being out of line and overall nuts.

Sounds like me the third week of every month.

sorry. I have a feeling that my FH will not want any part in flowers....

he actually is hard enough to talk about other stuff too when it comes to this. I think I'm hitting him with a lot since we're doing this basically 7 months from now and we're not set on much at all!!!!

So, I definitely feel you!!!

and yeah, they totally s uck when they don't feel well and want to do something more fun than what they originally planned............

ewww. sorry but that was my reaction at your post. w t f.

just call to reschedule the florist. no matter what. even if ND doesnt make the game, do you really want to go to the florist stressed about this issue before your shower?

just tell him you will push it back. if ND makes playoffs, whatever...and if they dont, have him take you to dinner or something

good luck chica!!! i would be mad if i were you too!!!

FH will come. He likes to give his opinion. But your FH sounds like he's PMSing. Give him a midol.

My FH blacked out on me the other day when I called him an ahole after he had a case of road rage. And his excuse was I he was feening for a cig. W T F!!!

No- Jerry has no interest at all in the flowers. That is the one thing he told me that he would not go for any appointments with me.
I am so sorry that FH went crazy like that. There must be something in the water lately that the men are acting this nuts!

FH wanted town hall. he is ONLY having this wedding to make me happy, because I wanted it. therefore he hasn't really been involved in ANY appointments.

i wish he was more into it, but on the upside there's not much we argue about in terms of what we want for the wedding. his only concern is the budget....

Men are like babies!!! When they hear what they don't want to hear, they go buckwild!!! I'm sorry

ETA-I didn't answer the question
FH is going to see with me to see our sample CP

Re: FH and I are fighting... - EDIT w/ background, sorry - Long

my FH will be coming to see the samples at the florist when the time comes. but thats because i have absolutely no interest in the flowers. i didn't even want such a big centerpieces because i always felt its a lot of money to spend for something that is going to die. but my FH wanted large tall centerpieces. also my FH used to work in the wholesale flower business so he knows better about flowers then i do. & also my FH is paying for the flowers so yes we will be going together.

I agree. Maybe it is nerves as the day is quickly approaching.

FH came with me to see the sample, but it was like he was not there. I asked what he thought he said They're pretty, and that is as much input as he gave. But at least he made the effort and came with me to see them, so i have to give him credit.

I didn't even think of dragging FH to flowers because he'd probably just yes me to death.

I definitely see what he's saying but agree it was an overreaction. I feel like sometimes people pick fights as a way to get out of something...This way since you're fighting, he's able to go out on Friday (????)
