FH and I are fighting... - EDIT w/ background, sorry - Long

FH and I are fighting... - EDIT w/ background, sorry - Long

Did your FH (or will he) come with you to see the sample centerpieces?

ETA: He made the samples appointment for us for friday night, night before my shower, because he thought it would be a nice way for me to get 'in the mood' for the shower and get my mind off work.
today he sends me an email as i'm in the middle of trying to leav emy office to go to the dr. and he's like 'could you find it in your heart to let me out of the appointment friday night? notre dame MIGHT be in the big east semi finals and GM might come down from boston and we'd try to go to the game'

So i said id call him bc i had to get out the door.

I call him and i tell him that i really wanted him to be there for the appt bc i value his input and he expressed a lot of opinions about the flowers the last time we went.

He FLIPPED out. I mean FLIPPED out. Screaming. Telling me that wasn't the 'right answer' and that he clearly signed himself up for a life of misery and what did he get himself into... on and on and on and on. And still going on. And I'm so upset because all i did was tell him honestly how i felt. I even suggested a COMPROMISE (wow what a foreign word) that if he really wanted to go to the game (which ND might not even make it to) he could call and change the appointment to a time more convenient for him to go with me, and that way we'd both be happy. but NOOOOOO that wasn't good enough.

Nope, not even for a second. But I was also able to bring it home with me, so he saw it when I brought it home.

Yes, Groomzilla came with me.

He also made changes to it...

If he's not int to it, don't make him go is my opinion. .

Edit: Oooh... that's different... I'd find out what the actual concern is, but I'd also make him go. He made his bed, he has to lie in it. He doesn't get to stop planning when something more fun comes along.

1. ND might not make it into the tournament
2. You can RESCHEDULE the appointment

How does looking at flowers for 45 minutes translate into a 'life of misery'...

he's coming he wants to argue with me because he wanted the blue orchids and i want the purple so he's coming just for that LMAO

Doubtful....FH has no interest in the centerpieces. If I put marigolds on the table he wouldn't know the difference. My Mom will be with me when I go to finalize my flowers.

nope... he was going to though! he took off for it but he had a doctor's appointment earlier and our florist is far away from where we live and i told him not to bother coming because i didn't want him to rush because it would be cutting it way too close.

Yes, but mostly because I needed a ride. LOL! He didn't open his mouth once the whole appointment except to accept a drink.

Nope! I tried to bring him to the first meeting and he kept telling them.. ' oh if everything is white, it will be fine. Then he told me he will not go to anything like that again. I put him in charge of entertainment, limos and blocking hotel rooms.

umm souinds like something else might be going on? is there any other reason why he might have flipped out like that?

i'd call that an extreme overreaction by him...

I went to a few florists on my own and chose one. He will come when it is time to choose everything. I just didn't feel the need to bore him with choosing a florist. He has been very good doing things related to the wedding so I try to spare him anytime I can.

ummmm let's see. as far as i know, the driving range was 'too crowded' when he got there so he turned around and went home.

also his allergies hit him like a ton of bricks yesterday.

FH didn't come with me to see the flowers. It was just me, my mom and my sister/MOH. BUT he didn't express an interest. Had it been something he expressed an interest in I would have been annoyed if he bailed and wasn't open to rescheduling. There is NO reason he should have freaked I don't get what his issue is with rescheduling... he was even the one who suggested going on Friday to get you all geared up for your shower!!!! Booooo FH and I'm really sorry you're dealing with this

Sick boys are such big babies. I bet he's just cranky but WOW that was uncalled for.

He comes with me to everything. Flowers are not one of the things he has an opinion about though. I do think that your FH over-reacted sorry.

I'm finding the same thing with my Mike lately. Maybe it's a 'Mike' thing, or maybe it's a 'too close to the wedding' thing. He's been so tense and on edge lately too

Agreed. Neel gets MAJORLY cranky when his allergies act up. Sometimes nasty-cranky.

I'm not excusing it at all - it's really kinda shocking when they get like that - but it could be a reason. They're big freak babies when they're sick.
