I have been growing my hair for almost 2 years. It is sooooo long and although it looks beautiful it is a pain in my assss.
So I decided that I would chop it the day after the wedding so I dod not have to be bothered with it on the honeymoon. Here is the cut I really want.
Well last night I brought it up again to fh and he said 'Please DO NOT cut your hair, I really love it long and I don't like short hair on girls.'
I tried explaining what an inconvenience it is for me with all this hair, but he kept just saying 'Do not cut it'
Now what, should I do what I want or think about how he feels, what would all you women do?
****************************************************** Update: I sat FH down and explained how fed up I was getting with my hair and how I really want to donate it after the wedding. I also showed him the pic of the haircut I want and explained that my hair groows really fast. I also told him how it bothered me that he told me not to do it.
Well, he finally said that he doesn't really care and that I should do whatever I want and he is sure any haircut I get will look great.
Tell him if he'd like to pay for me to go to a salon once a week, or twice, for blow-outs, styles or whatever, then sure, you'd keep it. If not, tough.

Guys always love long, plain hair. They don't get the style thing. Maybe you could do a slightly longer version of the cut, show him how hot you look and then cut it the rest of the way the next time!

what if you compromise and do a few inches longer than the pic (shoulder length)? i personally hate the way i look with 'short' hair, and am growing my hair out for the wedding. i plan to do a chop myself but nowhere as short as that pic
edit: white dress is my e-party in Aug, black shirt was thanksgiving weekend. as you can see my hair is a lot longer now, and i still have 8+ months to go. i'll prob cut it back to the length it was at my e-party after the wedding
Tell him you are donating your hair to locks of love and that is why you need to cut it (actually, I think if you are going to chop your hair anyway, that is really something to look into).
Maybe he'll feel bad telling you not to donate your chopped hair.

It is just weird to me b/c my fh usually is not the type to care about looks at all. He is the least vain person I know. I feel like maybe if I just do it he might be pleasantly suprised and like it, but it is the day after our wedding and I do not want any bad feelings on our honeymoon. I don't know what to do.

my FH only like long straight black hair... my FH is worse.... he wont let me do anything we fight when I tell him I need a haircut.. he complains if i cut my hair to my bra strap!! soo annoying!!! we use to fight alot because I wanted to try something different.. (a perm, highlights,bangs... etc) I just gave up..
I really want BANGS (like chantal in ANTM) but he wont let me...... SOOO ANNOYING!!
in my avatar pic I cut my hair mid lenght and he wouldnt talk to me for like a week!!

I was planning on doing that anyway. I would never cut it and not donate it. I should bring that up to him, b/c I never did mention it to him

my hair has grown so frickin much in the past year. i just cut some of it off the other day! lol but i told the FH i'm cutting my hair before the honeymoon and it's as short as it is in the pic you posted, and he said that's fine, because i'm donating it, and my hair was that short when i met him..
i hope he eases up when you tell him you're donating it!!

if you want to cut it, then just cut it!!!! You don't tell HIM when he should or shouldn't cut his hair do you?!!!
If it counts at all, I LOVE short hair on girls...I'm chopping mine off the day after the wedding. hahaha.

I think you should cut it if you want to you would prob look great with that cut and i'm sure it would be so much easier. He will like it once he sees it

fh is the same way.. i think its a man thing... he told me not to cut it either but my hair gets so unhealthy looking when its long.. so i may just take a few inches.. keep it long but healthy.. i say.. do what you like he'll get used to it!

FH loves when i change my hair - i think he likes it bc i always look like a different girl! between all the haircuts and color changes i do! ive gone from short platinum blonde to long blue black hair and all the colors in between! now my hair is longer than my shoulders and an eggplant and fuscia color! LOL
who cares what your FH says - its only HAIR! it grows back him telling you not to do something about the way you look and feel sounds sort of controlling to me! all these FH's need to get over themselves!

yeah me too i think its a 'guy' thing... my fh and i have this same talk/ bitter arguement all the time.. bc now that its long he LOVES it

Im growing my hair long for the wedding. I havent cut it in months. Anyhow, my FH loves brunettes, I had my hair brown for a while but I got sick of it so I highlighted it blonde. FH hates it but I really dont care, I love it. Go with what you feel, its your head not FH's

i'm at a loss on this one....i really am & that's why i haven't posted....
i like the compromise idea that bluegreen(i think) posted....go a little longer than shoulder - or just above the shoulders...
part of me says - screw him....but then the other part is - if he is sooo passionate about his opinion (as he seems to be)...then maybe you need to consider it and try to make it work...
