FH called me to tell me that he's really upset because he mentioned to someone that our HM is going to be in Playa del Carmen, and the person responded by telling him that thats only Cancun and that he's being cheap and that our honeymoon is cheap, and why wouldn't we spend more money for our HM and go to a more romantic HM place like Italy or Hawaii!
He told the person that they didn't know all the details and tried to tell them where we were going and they still said it was cheap.
He's FUMING!! I am too, I think that person was rude and completely ignorant to say something like that to us.

Classic New York Ignorance......Little does this guy know that Mexico is regarded as one of the most beautiful landscapes in all the world. The culture is rich with antiquity and the beaches are second to none. Just because a few juvenile college bums turned Cancun into booze cruise central, doesn't mean that the rest of Mexico is that way. It's the simpleton who, in his unintentional stupidity, degrades the whole based on a few negative connotations. Tell this 'Racist' Colleague to f*ck off and develop a sense of travel and style. And please, please do not take what he said to heart. Clearly he's a loser. Your HM will be incredible and you picked an extraordinary locale.

unfortunately some people might think that your HM to mexico and mine to aruba is cheap - because its not Hawaii, or Bora Bora, or Fiji, or Tahiti, Italy, Greece, France - whatever.....but who cares! now its one thing to think someones HM is cheap but to actually have the balls to say it to their face is what really makes me mad about your situation - why is this person not minding their own business? they sound like a real A-hole.....i dont know, some people DO act that way about HM's - to be honest i think they are overrated - you are newlyweds, just married and no matter where the hell you go its going to be amazing b/c its your first vacation and time alone together as husband and wife - and that is more special than any location on the planet - so who cares what they think - enjoy yourself! mexico is gorgeous and you'll have a wonderful time

People are so dumb and rude!!!! My friend stayed at the royal on her HM in Nov, I just came back from Excellence Riviera Cancun (30 min away from Playa del Carmen), and they are in no way cheap places!!! They are great destinations for people who want luxury with the options of staying on the resort all day, or going out to do more adventurous things. I loved my HM, and I'm sure you will too!!! I'd be pissed off too if someone said that to me!

HOW RUDE!!!! Don't even give that j erk off the satisfaction of letting it get you down. Some people just can't be happy for anybody! and that's all it is.
PS ~ I'm desperately trying to get hunny bunny to go back to Mexico and spend our heiney moon, it was one of my favorite vaca's ever and is NOT cheap at all!!!!!
