FH's Aunt ruined the surprise.....a little long...

So I went to FH's neice's christening on Sunday..we are both the godparents....the whole day goes by fine, and we go to the part at a hall afterward for some dinner.

Well, FH has some family that he isn't too fond of, and doens't really speak to. I am sitting with a bunch of his relatives trying to fit in, meeting new people. I've met his one aunt one time in my whole life, and it was at FH's sister's baby shower. So everyone is sitting and talking, and this aunt walks in, comes over, says hello to everyone...and the first words out of her mouth as she pulls out a chair to me are:

'So, you're shower is next weekend?' I looked up at her, and 5 other women looked at her and gasped....she ruined it!!!! She then says, 'Well just don't tell anyone I told you.' WHO DOES THAT? I would NEVER go up to a bride and say anything about her shower...

It was supposed to be a surprise, and I can't tell you how much I wanted it to be a surprise. I hate it when brides know about their shower beforehand. I told EVERYONE I wanted it to be a surprise. And 1 week before, she RUINS it!!

I told FH what she said to me bc he saw I was upset and wouldn't let me go back to the party until I told him, and he was furious! Everyone was trying to keep it a secret and she messed it up. I won't let him tell my bm's or our mothers bc I don't want to ruin the fun for them. And I don't want my family mad at his family. But I am so disappointed.

I can't get that surprise back, and I am so mad at this woman. I want to tell this woman how mad I am at her....Sorry, just needed to vent, I can't tell my friends otherwise they'll know I know...

OMG!!! I'm so sorry that happened to you!! I want my shower to be a COMPLETE surprise as well and I know I would feel the EXACT same way as you if someone did that to me!! I'm so sorry!!

that is horrble. the nerve of some people. i am sorry that she told you. is she coming to your shower? if so make a speech and tell everyonw there what she did. make her look like a fool. i bet then she'll get someone to beat her with the stick.

I would LOVE to do this...but I don't want my friends and family to think that all their hard work at keeping it a secret was for nothing...and that I knew...if anything, if she says anything to me, I might just be kinda rude, and thank her for ruining one of the nice things my family and friends wanted to do for me, and let her know that she should keep her yap shut

omg im soooooooo sorry well to make u feel better....butheads in my family keep getting things delivered to my house....WHO DOES THAT?... my freakin shower didnt happen yet and i havent a clue when it is and u send $hit to my freakin house!!!!!!!!.....i chalk it up to people not being stupid bc no one is that stupid i chalk it up to people not caring or having any consideration for someone else's life....if it doesnt have to directly do with them WHO CARES....it is frustrating and it honestly pisses me off!.....but now that u know....try to relax and ENJOY think of this way u can dress up exactly the way u want now that u know....lol

thanks...you would think the note in the invitation...

'Shhh, it's a surprise!!' would let her know NOT TO TELL THE BRIDE...

I just don't get how people are so stupid...I hope none of you have stupid future relatives like I have....what's even more sad, is that my 6 little cousins ages 11 and under have been able to keep it a secret!! Amazing!

I wish!!!! I don't think so, FH wouldn't be able to pull off acting how mad he was......and his mom doesn't really talk to her, so she wouldn't have been the person to try to fool me....but it's a good thought...

thanks jess, and from what I understand, every female invited is coming to the shower, so I have no idea where they are holding it...you can come if you beat this woman up in the alley...lol

I told FH not to tell me any other details....I don't know which day, or where it is...so now I have to practice my excited and surprised face...and when people ask me if it was a surprise, I am gonna answer, 'These girls surprised me with all of this, they did a great job!!'

I'm still bitter though..

That really ***** that she ruined it for you. I completely undestand how you feel I really want to be suprised. Focus on the things you will still be suprised about: you don't know where it is, you don't know the detail of the day, and try to enjoy it...you'll still get lots of fabulous presents, and the day is still all about you

im so sorry but you WILL have a great time anyway. i totally understand how you feel though, id be so bummed... well you dont know WHERE it is, or how everything will be decorated so some of it will still be a surprise.. have a blast and get back here and post pix!!!!!
