FINALLY registered for pre-cana

my church doesnt do it, so it was up to us to look up the schedules for pre-cana and pick one ourselves and register for it

i was nervous at first, like after we got engaged about this but thats bc im not even catholic and we have to do inter-faith pre-cana. But hearing others experiences and hearing that it mostly focuses on the relationship im gonna looking forward to it

Ok we finally stopped procrastinating and I JUST registered us...We're going October 12th and 13th so its not bad...Friday its 7:30-9:30 and then sat 9-5...Anyone else doing pre-cana in douglaston those days?

I just saw that sat your there from 9-5 whats that about. Do you know what you will be doing? I thought that it was married people just talking to you about married life and stuff that may come up.

well depends, some people go once a week for about 4-6 weeks so it would be lets say 6 sessions all together but over a period of time...We didn't want to do that so we picked the 2 day pre-cana and thats why on saturday its a long day. They do serve lunch and you take breaks, its not straight. You also talk about your own relationship, you have to take a foccus test before and you go over the answers and see what you and fh need to work on in your relationship. Also about how we'll raise our kids and other things.

ohh i think i would want to do the 2 day pre-cana.

Good for you. I know you have been procrastinating. I wish ours did a two day thing like that. Our is once a week for 2 hours for 6 weeks -- and won't start until after the holidays. Though they did give us the option of doing a retreat weekend where you go away for the weekend with the all the couples -- we said no to that!

yeah i HAD to make sure we got into this one bc otherwise we wouldve had to do it in november but that one was in brooklyn and for me and fh to be in bklyn by 9am is just a no-no lol...inter-faith isn't that often so its good we're doing it now to get it over with and its close to us

FH and I just got notified about when we have to go. We have to take FOCCUS Feb. 17 (my bday - that stinks that I have to be there then!) and Feb. 24. Then pre-cana starts March 30 and lasts for 3 Sundays.

LoL!! I need to do it soon! that weekend isn't good for me but they have differnt weekends right? I have been meaning to actually look at the papers my Church gave us..LoL

That's where we are at. Sent in all the paperwork, got a call in August saying it would start sometime in September. I never got a call, so I called them and asked, but apparently there is an issue at the church with who is in charge, now they said sometime in the winter. It better be, since the next one after isn't until after our wedding!!

yes they have different weekends...go to the site and look at their schedule and also see what their availability is
