First Prenatal Appointment ...

first of all its' very exciting!

You can expect a pelvic exam (which will produce some spotting so don't worry - even if you see it the next day). You'll answer a bunch of questions about your medical history and any medical history you know about your family and your husband's family. You'll get weighed. During the exam, the doctor will check the size of your uterus to gauge how far along you are. If you are far enough along (which I think you are if my memory serves me!), you'll get an ultrasound and be able to see your little swimmie in there! So bring hubby!!! - I had a ******l ultrasound (nice probe up there...) , but I could see the flickering of the heart which was amazing and little arm buds and leg buds!

She enlarged the pic too, printed it, then tooks TONS of blood and then you'll speak after about questions. Bring a pad with your questions - and ask away!!!

I had a 9 week ultrasound, not in doctor's office, but it was not an internal one.
You answer lots of questions, and make sure you ask lots too.

Congrats!!! My first sono was at 11 weekss and it was a v a ginal one too!!! When I saw my little guy there could have been a marching band in the room and I wouldn't have cared You can also see a lot more in a va ginal one
