FI's gift is hiding under the dishwasher and I can't get her out!!! HELP!!!!

Ok ladies - I picked up the kitten this morning, took her to the vet - all is good. We come home, I open her carrier and nothing for 2 hours. That's okay I know she's skittish. All of a sudden she takes off like a shot and hides under my dishwasher!!!! How the heck do I get her out???? Don't want FI to come home from work and say 'Hi Hon, your V-day is hiding under the dishwasher - lean over and say hello!!!!

Do you have some tinfoil you can roll up in a ball and get her to come out to play.

awww kitty!! Maybe food? have a can of tuna or something? let the smell get to her under the dishwasher.

I'm not trying to be funny here but, how about turning it on for a second? Maybe the noise will scoot him out from under. Can you slowly, gently roll it out from the wall?

Karen, LOL, that is so cute! The tin foil idea is a good one. Maybe some string. But if she is scared, mabe she will come out if you stop trying. Hopefully she will think you are gone and come out.

I tried playing with some yarn and putting her food dish right by wall. Nothing!!!!!! Of course had FI installed the front piece of the dishwasher like he was supposed to (like 3 mos ago) - this wouldn't have happened!!!!!! Plus the crawl space is connected to the back of my cabinets, so I don't want her going where I can't see - which is my next fear!

I think I'll leave her alone for awhile. Maybe my going back and forth is scaring her.

she'll come out eventually, just be prepared to block the space so she doesn't go back under there...when FH and I moved into our apt. our cats hid for a day, one behind the washing machine and the other under the sink...I was so afraid he would drink the bleach or something *shrugs-crazy, I know*

What an awesome gift! He is going to be sooo happy!! Any luck? If not give her time..she's probably just scared. Leave the food dish there & walk away from the area for a while. She will come out..& when she does stuff a towel under there & anywhere else she can fit under.

We have two.One is all black and the other is black and he looks like he's wearing a tux.He's all white underneath and has a milk mustache.

novemberbride - congrats on your obsession!!

kitty still does not want to come out - so i'm trying to leave her alone for a little while. i blocked the other end of the crawl space, so she only has one way out. she's so little - only 2.8lbs @ 4mos!! she's black and white, but her face is all white, and she has a little black chin - like a goatee!!

Tuna is a great suggestion. Wet food with a strong smell. The kitty won't come running for dry food in a dish! If your husband isn't home, I think giving the kitty some time is a good idea. Being in a new place, and going to the vet are scary!!!
