Florist Quotes

Hi everyone,

I have to use one of two florists that my vendor requires. The price is shocking to me. A friend of mine is having a wedding double the size, (so double the bridesmaid bouquets, double the centerpieces, double the pews to decorate at church (mine is a small ceremony at the venue), and I'm not decorating the cocktail hour room) and her quote is less than half the price I'm receiving.

I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any idea of what you are getting and for how much. I think it will help me negotiate better if I know what a fair price is. Or maybe I have a good quote?

My quote was over $6k for:
1 Bridal Bouquet
6 Bridesmaid Bouquets
9 Boutonnieres
2 large centerpiece style bouquets for the ceremony that will be used as decor in the reception room
12 Centerpieces
3 pillar candles at each table
1 Entryway bouquet
15 small floating candles
Ceremony Runner

TIA

Florist Quotes

That's ridiculous!! I'm having 7 bm bok, 12 bouteniers, 20 tall centerpieces, and doing most of them w peonies, orchids, an s hydrangea and I'm around the $4k mark! You need to tell your hall your NOT spending that much $$ w required house vendors. Total bs they only use those house vendors bc the get a kickback

I know, thanks so much!! I haven't even reached out to other florists since I can't use them so I don't even know if the prices was off, I just assumed it was after talking to my friend.

OMG thats crazy!! I would never book with a place that made me pick their florist. Can you try to DIY? Maybe use fake flowers?

Re: Florist Quotes

My RH requires me to use one of their house florists, but they gave me more than 2 florists to choose from. That just doesn't seem right because then it leaves you less flexibility to shop around.

I agree with DIYing some of the items. You can probably buy pillar and floating candles online and cut some of the cost. Are you willing to consider non-floral centerpieces? You can do 6 floral and 6 non-floral. Just some ideas because that quote seems bonkers.

Try getting a quote from another florist with the same things your getting and see if there is a huge difference. Then I would present it to that florist and/or hall to see if they can either lower the price or let you use another florist.I'm sorry but $6000 is crazy for all of that. My friend had about 300 guests for her wedding with about 30 tables of the tall centerpiece which were filled with peonies plus the bouquets and church decor and she paid $5000 with Pedestals.

I'm getting much more than that (more tables etc) for a little less. Try Verbena in Hicksville - Jamie and Jen are both excellent!
