FMIL Day of dress?

FMIL Day of dress?

Ok so my BM's are wearing BLACK for the wedding, Dresses have not been picked out yet,, (hopefully this week or next). But MY mom said that she will not wear BLACK because she doesnt want to blend in with the bridal party in the pictures (I agreed), since my sisters and Fh sisters are part of the bridal party. I appreciated that.... but now FMIL wants to wear BLACK.. I explained what my mom said to FMIL and she said 'oh ok so then if she's not wearing it I will'

I dont want her to wear Black,,,, or White do you think I am right or wrong?

My FMIL wants to wear black as well. My BM's are wearing black too. I feel like as long as she is happy and comfortable I am fine with that. In all honestly, your FMIL is not in that many pictures and if she is then it is not with your BMs.

And i really hope NO ONE shows up in white!! i would say NO WAY to that!!

I'm not sure, but I enjoy that you capitalized BLACK everytime. I felt like you were yelling that one word at me.

you're welcome! but my real answer is you should just see if your FH can talk to her about changing her dress color if it bothers you that much

I dont think its a big deal if she wears black since every other girl at the party will prob being wearing black. So many girls wear black dresses to weddings

I don't think it's a big deal...but then again, doesn't she want to stand out a little bit?? She's the mother of the groom - I'm surprised she wouldn't want to be a little more noticeable.... ya know?

I agree! Alot of women will be wearing black.. my mom doesnt think it will be appropraite for her the Mom's to be in Black for the wedding pics (family pics)...

I guess I dont see it as a huge deal, but I guess we will wait and see when we (MOB, Me and FMIL) go shopping together.

Yeah- maybe see what happens when you all shop together. Keep pointing out how every BLACK dress she tries on wont stand our and make her special...blah blah

I would just let her know that she will blend in rather than stand out ..and you would like her to STAND out

I need to borrow that picture and send it to my sisters FMIL and my FMIL. We just had a long conversation about this and I will be going shopping with FMIL to pick out her dress so I can control the color. My sister is getting married next friday and her FMIL bought a Champagne Ball gown dress. I mean come on --- her dress is Ivory and the BM are wine and champagne. Why don't you just put on your wedding dress and walk down the aisle.

Aren't the rules, don't wear white and if you know the colors of the BP don't wear it either? I mean come on, it's different if it was a random person going to the wedding, but FMIL? There are so many great colors like plum, ivory, navy, etc. that would look great!

make sure the dress she gets is different from the BP...go shopping with her for it

but im sure other guests will be wearing black too

i love wearing black dresses...
