FMIL dress....2 weeks till the wedding and...

I don't know what her dress looks like. She won't let anyone, not even her son or daughter see it. She won't even tell me what color it is!!!! FSIL (FBIL's wife) saw the clutch pocketbook she has, I asked the color and FH's sister and FMIL both say 'Don't say it!'

Hello!?!?! What the f****??????

I swear, if she wears something inappropriate, oh my! Not that there is ANYTHING I can do about it now!!!!

This all came out b/c we were eating dinner and FSIL (FBIL's wife) is 3 mos PG, and her boobs are growing and happen to be popping out of her shirt. FMIL makes a comment about how her boobs pop out more in her dress for the wedding. So I start asking about it.

I have asked before about the dress and I have bever received a straight answer. I'm scared!!!!!

Re: FMIL dress....2 weeks till the wedding and...

I feel your pain. I am marrying into a Chinese family. As the bride, I am supposed to change into a Chinese wedding dress during the reception. It is a red chinese silk dress. My mother in law decided to have a Chinese wedding dress custom made to wear to my wedding!!! This is a BIG no-no and her family is giving her a hard time about it. But she insists on wearing it which is kind of creepy.

Don't be scared (easier said than done). Remember - if she wears something inappropriate, then people will judge her for it. No one will look badly at you - in fact, they'll mostly be looking at you anyway!
Besides that - if she wears white/wears something very revealing, tell your photographer and videographer to keep away from her or get her from the neck up. And you don't have to put her in the album if you don't want to!

Jill!!!! She won't upstage you - you will be the most beautiful one that day!!! And if her boobs just happen to fall out of her dress - it's her casuality and not yours!! The photographer can just be told not to take many photos of her if you hate her dress!!!

Re: FMIL dress....2 weeks till the wedding and...

Let me give you the advice a wise bride passed down to me (b/c I am extremely nervous what FMIL will wear and although she doesn't have a dress yet, I doubt she'll show me):

Don't fret. Let her wear what she wants. If its something inappropriate ppl will snicker behind her back and talk about what an @sshole she is.

That's out of control she will only cause embarrasment to herself all eyes will be on you anyway. She is wrong for what she is doing but it all will reflect on her in the end if she is wearing something imappropriate.

Thank you all! And you're all right, SHE will be the one getting the stares and talking behind her back about how inappropriate she looks!

Re: FMIL dress....2 weeks till the wedding and...

Like everyone else said, don't worry about it. whatever she wears, she wears. Believe me, you won't even notice these things that day! And also, if what she is wearing is inappropriate, she will be talked about, and not in a good way!
