FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Original post by sirev

What stage are all of you in your planning. I am feeling very overwhelmed lately and I feel I will not have enough time to finish everything. It also seems like I am forgetting things. Does anyone else feel this way?

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Decbride- Where in Merrick? We have been looking there too that is so funny, we could become neighbors. I had my shower this weekend, we ordered our religious marriage license, I mailed my thankyous from the shower and any early gifts, tonight we meet with our Rabbi, thursday we meet with the caterer. Everything seems to be moving along.

Anyone else feel like crying all the time??? I am getting very emotional. I don't like it!!!!!

Hope everyone else is getting things done.

abc, I also feel on the verge of tears all the time. Wednesday we're meeting with the caterer, rabbi and dj to make payments and finalize plans. Friday is my 2nd fitting and I'm looking forward to that. I've also started making my seating arrangements.

ABC - The house is on Little Whaleneck off of Merrick Rd. I love it. I can't wait to move. The closing is on or about 1/15, so only 1 month after the wedding. I am sure with the wedding 12/15, honeymoon, holiday and packing it will be here before I know it

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Well I had a big night last night. We went to Sans Souci to pick our menu, pick the cake and to give the preliminary head count. We also met our Rabbi and worked out some of the ceremony items. The dj was suppossed to meet us last night also, but he cancelled on us. In the afternoon, we picked up our wedding rings. Friday night I have my second fitting and next week we'll pick up the marriage license. I still have to make all the arrangements with the photographer and dj, finish the seating plan, print the place cards and make the bathroom basket. The seating plan can't be completed until all of our rsvp cards are returned. We still haven't heard from over 20 people.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

We're just picking ours up this week. We used a guy in the Diamond Dist. called Fashi Adorn - we worked w/ Alex. He designed the earrings & matching necklace I'll wear on the day also our rings... his plain, my plain to match his & my diamond to wear w/ my e-ring. He did really well on the price of it all!!!

FM me if you want details!

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Update: We did the tux thing last weekend, so that's done. I typed out the inside of the programs on Friday, to e-mail to my nephew who is laying it all out and designed the cover (he did such a great job). We have an appointment with the hall for the menu Wed night, and on Thursday night we go to do the flowers. We got all but 8 peoples responses back, so we will make some calls at the end of this week if they do not arrive. I think Saturday is my shower, we'll see

I made lists on what we need to bring to the church, hall, hotel, etc, so I need to type those up. Also Wed night after the menu, I am going to my sisters to put together the Jordan Almonds in the tulle. I bought a few more things for the emergency kit. At least I got to cross a couple of things off the list. Things are moving right along.

How is everyone else doing? Any showers this past weekend?

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Had my shower last weekend, it was soo nice. Bought the paper for my programs this weekend and a slip that I needed for under my gown. Have about 10 more response cards that need to be returned and I am getting very frustrated and want to call those people and tell them they are no longer invited. If it takes you this long to decide then you really don't want to be there. I will start working on my programs tonight. Moved half of my things to fh's this past weekend. STill deciding on our plain wedding bands and what we want. How is everyone else doing??

Do you have a list for the emergency bride kit?? I think I forgot about that!! Thanks

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I made my ladies room basket and am starting to put together the emergency bride kit too. So far I have powder, chalk, shout wipes, safety pins, glue stick, sewing kit, straws, extra pantyhose, band aids and aspirins. I went for my second fitting on Firday night and the dress is just about finished. I really like it this time. The dressmaker just needs to add lingerie straps and tack the back in alittle. I'm picking it up on the 25th. I am making the labels for the placecards on the computer, but like abc, I am also missing more than a few rsvp's. I also agree that I'd like to call and uninvite them, but I guess that can't be done. I still have to workout the details with the photographer, but have pretty much finished with the dj. This week I need to pick up our vouchers from Liberty Travel for the honeymoon and just do little things.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

Glad to see everyone's doing well ... The stress level is up, though. It's been something everyday for the last 2 weeks!

Recently we ...

saw the travel agent and pd for our honeymoon
started working on our readings for ceremony
had mom's fitting for dress ... oh .... the agony!!!
had first fitting ... did not go well, had to return bra b/c it did not work w/dress
spoke to band ... songs are due
got all BM's shoes
will finish pre-cana this week
will meet w/rest. for rehearsal dinner
will meet w/hall for last minute q's b/f set menu

NYC Shari ... Why straws & chalk for your basket?

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I think the straws are so that you don't ruin your lipstick if you drink something. I have no idea what the chalk is for lol!!!

Interested to find out!

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

The chalk is for any light stains that you may get on your dress. The chalk will whiten them up. I had a hard time finding white chalk in the city because all the stores only had colored chalk.

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

I have heard the same thing about the chalk, figured I would get some. I also heard baby powder for the same reason, I already got some of that.

abc7077 Posted:

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

It just stays on the spot? I can't imagine powder being able to do that but I guess someone has tried this already. What kind of stains are we talking about?

Re: FOR ALL DECEMBER BRIDES....

ABC7077 - I am not sure, but I figured it seemed to be on a lot of lists, so I better get it.. lol
