For those (christians) who are getting married in a church..

I'd like to have one too. I was told that it will be the same length of ceremony also. I was just wondering if there are a few in the crowd in the church, such as friends, who will be offended or just not comfortable (I do have a couple Indian/Hindu/Muslim friends that will be there). But you know what, it's really up to me. They should understand that.

no mass. it was enough convincing him to marry us on a Sunday.

I am not religious, and I would not be offended if my friend or family member had a mass.

I think anyone that would be offended by you having a mass is offensive. If you wnat your wedding ceremony to have a mass then go for it.

I had a lot of non-christians at my wedding. One of my BMs is Jewish and she had never stepped foot inside of a church before.

No one was uncomfortable. I had a full mass. Some people didn't receive Communion, but you will find christians who, for personal reasons, don't, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Do what you want. Its your day.

Sunday! Actually BAPTISM Sunday. They don't do wedding masses on Baptism Sunday.

Oh. I didn't know that. That's strange. Well it will still be special to the both of you, regardless.

We had a mass, and several people in our bridal party who are jewish and some who do not follow the beliefs of the church. My priest told them that when it was time for communion, to just indicate that they would not be receiving. It was not an issue at all.

of course...If a mass is what you want...you should have one...

I will tell you that I do feel a bit strange sitting in my seat when everyone gets up for communion...but I do it, b/c I want to witness people in my life being married

Nah.. I don't think they'll be offended it's your ceremony and the rites you follow much like they follow their own.

My issue was I asked the reverend to remove any religious reference when asking the audience to support our marriage. Im also still pondering if there should be ANY religious reading at all. Still need to sit and surf the bible to see if anything floats my boat.

Cermony..Future in-laws are Jewish and already having a Heartattack that 'MY SON' is getting married in a Catholic Church. I don't want to totally kill them...But as it stands now none of them (FMil and granny) are comming to the wedding so I might just do a mass to annoy them even more.
