I actually saw a woman on TV once who talked about inviting God to her wedding. Like she mailed an invitation to Him and everything.

seriously, you can invite the pope and the president...you get a letter from the vatican congratulating you and fh on your marriage, same from the white house.

and no, we don't expect them to come, its more a formality

My grandparents got letters from the pope and the president for their 50th anniversary- I guess I never thought of it.

Serious though, thats a cool idea... I would like to send one to the pope, how do you know where to send it?
