Well our precana was weeks long (uggh!) and it really wasn't that bad though, you talk about things like having children, financial isues etc, to be sure you are both understanding & agreeing of what the other wants before you enter marriage.
Marcella take pics tomorrow!!!!!

Mine was exactly like Jennbaby's . I actually liked it! I'm not sure what it would be like all day, but at least you get it over with (ours was 6 weeks)

Marcella- I am in the middle of Pre-Cana right now -we meet on 3 Sundays from 6-9 at my church - its not bad though I had to drag my FI kicking and screaming (he seems to think that a lifetome of Catholic school education exempts him- funny!) Anyway, they have couples that have beeb married from like 10-35 years come in and talk communication, having children, financial isues etc- this Sun is the big sex talk! Then it ends with a mass where they bless your e-rings.
Also, totally coincidence that Jenn524 is in my class!
Good luck at the tasting!

Marcella, I had the one day all day pre-cana. We did it at the Immaculate Conception Center in Dousglaston on March 1. It was a long day but they fed us twice and the couple who led the talks were very funny. We moved from section to section like once an hour - Communication (fighting fair etc), Money (who does what), Sex (duh), Families etc. We had a little workbook with exercises that we had to fill out after each talk, which I thought was fun but poor FH was miserable. He can't sit still that long.
All in all I'd say it was relatively painless. And over in one shot.

Marcella, John told them we lived together and they gave us a 'look', meanwhile I am sure the whole group was doing the wild thing, so what the heck is the difference??!?!?! (No offense Stay )

Re: For those who have done Pre-cana and food tasting.. need to know what to expect..
When we did pre-Cana, we weren't yet living together, but I am sure one of the couples was living together. No one ever asked though, and no one offered that info.
Also, I was afraid they'd ask about our sex life, which they never did.
I also thought it was going to be a lot of religous stuff, which it wasn't. It had small bits and pieces of religion thrown in, but hardly any.
We weren't able to go to the mass at the end, which was at the church during Sunday morning mass, so I don't know what that was like.
I thought it would be a terribly boring experience, but I actually had fun.

I did Pre-Cana in two 8 hour days. It was long but not so bad. You're lucky to only have to go for one day.
As for my food tasting...my FH and I got to share a whole bunch of different dishes. It's really fun. BUT...I spent so much time chatting with the banquet manager that my FH ate most of the food...I regret that...Don't chat...Just EAT!!!

well, we never offered that information, and to be frank if they ask I will tell them the truth, but I don't want to be the black sheep or anything.. Luckily, todd happens to take these things very well. he usually makes the best of it and I'll probably have to give himt eh look to shut up and stop offering information lol

Never did food tasting, but pre-cana was great! We've done 3 classes so far - the first night we talked about family (in-laws) and finances - the second was each other, what we like, dislike, how we handle differences of opinion, the third was about fighting, children and sex. You only talk as much as you want to. This week we have our mass on Sunday which is the last class. Not sure how differently churches work but yours should be along the same lines. My fI actually enjoyed it!
