So I registered at Fortunoff yesterday and found some great things. Every day plates and stuff is a better or bigger variety than BBB but more expensive.
Anyway I get home and go over my list and notice that the prices on my list are 10-20 dollasrs higher than how they are marked in the store.
A pair of crystal lamps that I picked out were $30 more on my print out.
Anyone any have this type of problem?
What should I do?

Re: Fortunoff Registry
I went there on monday night. I really didn't like anything they had. Everything was expensive. Call them up and ask them why the prices are higher. I didn't notice that on mine.

Re: Fortunoff Registry
I wasnt on every item but on quite a few. i loved the lenox everyday dishes...I dont remember the name.
I also got my bedding there and lamps and some kitchen stuff. i figure that my relatives that love the store will want to shop there for me.
I want my everyday dishes more than my formal wear.
I am going to call them, I am just bothered by it.

Re: Fortunoff Registry
Good to know about the coupons...how did you find out?
You would think that they would tell you so that you arent forced to go to BBB because BBB does have better deals.
I did speak with the Fortunoff Girls today ...a girl that I signed up wiith lastnight was at a Bridal Showcase tonight and she said that they post the REGULAR pirce of the items. I asked 'Why does the print out say 'today'' and she really didnt have an answer but to say that that is the highest price that one of my guests will pay for that product if they compare it to another price/store.
I am so excited that Fortunoff accepts BBB coupons. I think that since I reallly, really love my everyday dishes I may buy them on my own as a gift for myself so that they dont go on clearance. i dont know if I would tell my mom or FH though. There are other things that I should be saving my money for but I love them

I didn't have that problem but I did notice that A LOT of items get discontinued. A hand mixer was discontinued. I'm going to switch my registry from Fort to Macy's - Macy's gives the & better incentives...

What the hell? You only live once! And if you don't get them and they get discontinued - every day you eat you're gonna say 'well, these are my second fave dishes. '
Edited for grammar...

Re: Fortunoff Registry
They give you 5% back on every item that someone buys off your registry - hello expensive China. It's only valid if you have a Macy's card. Fortunoff's has it too but who has a Fortunoff's card? If you have a Fortunoff card it'll work, but honestly - do you?
I was at Macy's buying something and the woman saw we were engaged so she told me about the program for like two mins - I have to go back to register. I'd prob register at the Bay Shore one, It's closer to me - and just add things online....
ETA: I hate the Bay Shore Macy's too - it's a pig sty!

Re: Fortunoff Registry
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about applying to a Fortunoffs card. Their seasonal stuff is great and some things they have are hard to find anywhere else.
Macy's I have the credit card. Maybe I should consider....but how many registry cards do I put in the bridal shower invitations...the guests will feel like they are business cards falling out all over the place...or really big confetti!
Are you registered at BBB? I really like their fine chine department but I wasnt crazy about their bedding

Re: Fortunoff Registry
You shouldn't put ANY in the shower invites................you aren't supposed to know about it!
I am registering at all three. I don't think 3 is too many. Or I may just cut out Fortunoff's altogether. I've gotten a shower invite where the girl was registered at four places. I didn't care, it just gave me a bigger selection to choose from...

Re: Fortunoff Registry
I know I wont be putting them in but maybe I might want to peek to know what the date is...or I can just constantly check my registry and see when it becomes moreand more frequent that the gifts are being bought.
THanks for your help with all of this. I want to register at Crate and Barrel also!!!!
Two maybe three for me! Silly me at first I thought BBB was enough now I want it all
i cant afford fortunoff and i dont want to make anyone at my shower feel obligated to spend soo much. but i am jealouse of those of you that are registered there. but bbb has a cash return no questions asked policy. but fortunoffs is really nice

Re: Fortunoff Registry
I think their prices are competitive... Have you gone there and looked at the prices? I felt the same way but I went there anyway and was pleasantly surprised. Do a price comparison on-line BBB v. Fortunoff. It's pretty much the same... I agree though - it's a b!tch for guests - especially if they don't live near it... At least BBB and Macy's are everywhere.
