Fortunoffs

Just a word of advice - if you could avoid registering there - do it!

I'm very unhappy with their customer service, from beginning to end....just wanted to let you girls know...BBB has had the BEST service yet.

Thanks for the info. I've basically moved all of my stuff to my BBB registry because they have an awesome return policy and the lady that helped us was so sweet and genuinely cared that we got what we wanted and had enough gifts per guest.

Really?? I am registered at both BBB and Fortunoff and I would say the Fortunoff costumer service is great! My FH and I have been there som many times in the past two months, and never had a problem. Everyone is ALWAYS super friendly and helpful. Maybe someone was just having a bad day?

Re: Fortunoffs

FH said the same thing regarding customer service...All he did in the store was say how when we get back i have to post on LIW and let ppl know. Yeah they werent that helpful

BUT bc of what is going on with themnow, after the wedding whatever is not bought off your registry instead of the normal discount of 10% you will have 20% off your things

i've actually had the same experience - i mean this past weekend we went to make our returns and they took everything back (even stuff that wasn't on the registry) and gave us store credit for it, no questions asked!

i guess it depends on who is working that day

I'm relieved to hear you say this about the returns because I've heard so many people say that Fortunoffs has a 'horrible' return policy and I wasn't sure what they meant. Now I know I can return without a problem! Thanks!

Ya Ive heard that BBB is the best place to register. They just didn't have the plates or towels I wanted. :(

Re: Fortunoffs

That's quite shocking! I've had nothing but positive things to say about Fortunoff's. All the girls there were very helpful and polite. FH and I were in there for over 4 hours with the gun and the women there were very patient and explained everything for us when we had questions.

BBB was the worst stop. I closed my registry there because of their rudeness and switched everything to Pampered Chef.

Re: Fortunoffs

About two months ago I was in there for about 3hours by myself with a pen and note pad writing down what I saw and wanted to add to our registry (reminder that I'm already registered but don't have the gun) NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE would acknowledge that I was alive. I was in the furniture section, luggage, china and worst of all the jewelry section. I made a formal complaint to them regarding the treatment I got (or didn't get) and how a women stood right in front of me at the jewelry counter and never looked at me, said hello or anything and walked away from me. I had wanted to see a pearl bracelet but I was ignored for about twenty minutes and then I left. I don't know why no one in the store was helping me since it was a weekday afternoon and I was practically the only one there. Well anyway we are still registered there, small things. Most of our registry is at BBB because they do have better customer service, The only time you get service at Fortunoffs is if you walk around with your gun.

Re: Fortunoffs

fortunoff didn't help us at all. We were all excited to register there, and they basically just shoved the scanning gun in our hands and told us to get to it, and then pitched their credit card.

Plus, they discontinued our bedding 4 weeks after we chose it. And our dessert dishes, and one of our bathroom fixtures. We only registered for 20 things there, and a month later, 14 of them were discontinued!

Re: Fortunoffs

THE people in the registry department were nice and explained everything and friendly. Walking around the store though they were more concerned with standing around talking to eachother. We were in the furniture department and you see us looking for the missing price on a couch everywhere, and all the women just stood there gossiping about something that happened. We had to ask and even then they were that helpful. Maybe it was the furniture department. In the bath department they were nice and so was somebody in kitchen appliances, the guy there was more than helpful. Those ladies though that im talking about, were annoyed to even be interrupted. BUt again a majority of the people werent doing anything and wouldnt ask us if we needed help with anything. Especially when they saw we had to keep scanning things over and over bc oh yeah the gun didnt scan half of what we did.

Re: Fortunoffs

I do agree that it is annoying to register for items and have them discontinued, but was I shocked when I received extra help in finding them. I was able to get all but one piece to my bedroom set.
I got several phone calls from the ladies in the registry department regarding my discontinued set once I raised concern on wanting to purchase it.
I guess it depends on the associate.
Sorry this happened to you!

BTW: What is the update on what is happening to them, are they giving a registry completion 20% discount because they won't carry certain departments anymore? Just curious!
