I think maybe one time I cried about the chairs. They are TERRIBLE! I am somehow someway springing for chair covers.
Or I will just get over it and realize no one cares about the chairs except me :)

it bothers me... it does make a big difference.. i guess thats how they get you...

it bothers me... it does make a big difference.. i guess thats how they get you...
I do like the look of chair covers regardless of whether the place has nice chairs or not. But I think $7 for the icecream or viennese tray s would be better use of my money. I think you can do the viennese and put out take out boxes... if so I'll do that in lieu of favors.

Keri.. I would get them to include it somehow... next time you go or talk to them.. let them know you want them included... my dad did the negotiating.. we got that and some other stuff included... see if you can work any magic...

I knew I should have brought my dad, lol.
I was just going to say the same thing. We got a great PP price... but we didnt negotiate for any extras at all. I feel so lame.
However, I was told by 2 seperate banquet managers... that they are trying to OWN their chair covers by 2008 and that right now they rent them from somewhere else which is why they are so expensive. not sure if it's true or not though...
I really didn't think the chairs were ugly at all. Now i'm freaking out.

I don't mind the chairs - really - no one notices them & I HATE chair covers. They make sitting on chairs annoying. I always wind up stepping on them or something... I remember when I was there - they were getting newer chairs or something like that - maybe they had just gotten some new ones...

The 'ugly' chairs are the red ones.. they arent really ugly.. I just prefer the look with the white chair covers.. the wgp room has the iron chairs.. they are beautiful with the room all made up.. thats where my cousing got married.. and it looked beautiful... so I wouldnt worry about that...
My dad negotiates beautifully... we got some extras thrown in, nothing big... we are gonna try to see what else we can get closer to the date.. my brother got EVERYTHING at the woodlands thrown in for his... so who knows...

I do have the 'ugly' chairs...
and while i'm totally into the whole being honest, and everyone having their own opinion and taste (obviously)
I think repeatedly calling a feature of someone's hall ugly can be a little upsetting. I cannot afford the $7 pp chair covers. I never thought about it untill this post, i figured the chairs are fine. But now i'm freaking out that they are ugly. I'm not gonna go crazy or anything about it. In fact, freaking out is the wrong word...b/c i'm totally calm about it. However, I'm not one of the more sensitive girls on here. If i'm upset, I'm sure other girls on here are VERY upset.
The chairs are fine ladies, I've never heard a guest at a wedding say 'Oh my god, these chairs are horrible! They should have covered them up!!'

I was actually kidding because I have no idea what the chairs look like. I can't do chair covers either for the budget but also I completely agree - have been to 5 weddings this year and never once noticed the chairs.
Sorry to make you worry about the chairs, i really didn't mean anything by it. I'm sure they will look fine. The fox hollow is so beautiful I can't imagine anything really being ugly there.
