Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
i don' remember what it was called but it had like an olive puree in it and rice pilaf i think & it rocked! calamari was good too. hawaiian chicken was more like a sweet & sour chicken, also good.this girl i found on the net who's trying to build her wedding portfolio took pics at our wedding. although she got some 'great' shots of the back of heads, there are some nice aerial shots of the WGP from one of the doors that open on the top (something to keep in mind for your photographer).

If you choose to do a grooms cake do you need to contact the bakery Fox Hollow uses or can you order it through them?

Hi Everyone,
I am a POTENTIAL FH bride, but have some questions:
the BM DAve said that we couldn't have the WGP room for cocktail hour if we chose the Garden Terrace--do you think I can negotiate that somehow?
ALSO, when do we get to do a food tasting? Is that when we book the place?
Thanks!!!![]()
you probably wont be able to negotiate the WGP. if you are in the garden terrace you probably have too many people for the WGP. we are in the GT and were told we cant use the WGP b/c we exceed the # of people who could legally and comfortably fit in the there.

post has 2 purposes,
1. Bump from page 2
2. ask this
For girls who just had or are about to have and have decided on menus for the wedding,
Which stations did you go with for the Cocktail Hour? FH and I are starting to think about it, even though it may change, based on what they have available now. I was wondering what you all thought of the stations, which ones rock, which are ok, and which were not that popular.
Thanks in advance
I posted this a while back, but here's the food we chose for the CH, and our thoughts on everything we got to try.
'We had:
Penne ala Vodka - A
Shells w/ Broccoli Garlic & Oil - B+ for good, but boring (for the veggie folks we had coming)
Roast Maryland Turkey - A
Seasoned Pastrami - A+
Seafood Newberg - did not get to try
Beef Bourguignone - did not get to try
Eggplant Rollatini - B+ for good, but nothing special
Sausage & Peppers - A+
Spanakopita - A
Moussaka - A+++++
They gave us the Seafood Boat for free, and it was a HUGE hit. Very tasty!! So A+++++ for that, too, even though it wasn't my personal favorite. I was all about the Moussaka.'
I can now add that people were really into the pastrami, and the seafood boat, the most.

Quick for update for you guys. Hopefully, I'll get a full review out later.
Everything was FABULOUS!!! Cindy and Mike worked with me and my mother and I were noting that if we asked them to move the moon for us because we didn't like the reflection they probably would have found a way to do it.
All the service was great, we had a couple of broken glasses and stubborn guests that they deal with quickly and effectively.
We heard that the food was wonderful (I only had a couple of bites and instead enjoyed some quiet time with my DH at the sweethearts table).
We had one bit of miscommunication about a signature drink and they couldn't have been more apologetic and I would be willing to take the blame on that because I should have been more clear in my request.
The cake was perfect. In fact I just had a piece and even they day after it was great.
For the ladies staying at the Inn, they are re-doing all the rooms and the updated rooms look beautiful.
All and all a wonderful day, thanks to the great work of the Fox Hollow staff.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Thanks for all of your replies ladies--they were VERY helpful!!We went back to FH yesterday with our parents and unfortunately, both sets of parents DID NOT like the place. I think it has to do with the fact that we couldn't see the GT because it was in use AND because Dave, the BM (who is the Director of Sales there) was kind of curt with us, which REALLY upset me.
Anyhoot, I'm so torn now.....I loved FH the first time around and pictured walking around in my wedding dress but yesterday there were a few things that bothered me. Maybe someone can help ease my nerves about them.
1. The Smell--does anyone else notice a really funky smell when you first walk into Fox Hollow? It smells a little musty? Do they DO anything about it the day of your wedding?
2. The Briar Fox Room--each time I have seen this room it just seems so dark and dreary (and it's been empty both times we've been there). How does it look all 'dressed up'?
Thanks ladies!!

I've never noticed a smell at the Fox Hollow honestly. If there is a smell, it might be because they have the fireplace going. If you're getting married in the non winter months, this would be a non issue.
The Briar Fox room is just eh. I'm using this room for my CH. It's only one hour. I can deal with it. Garden Terrace is my Reception room and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
In response to the smell.. The day I went in to sign my contract, the GT room did smell a bit musty.. but it was after a wedding, and they were steam cleaning the rugs... When I went for a bridal tea party thing, the room was dressed up with some flowers, totally smelled like flowers... so my take.. even if it smells a bit musty on 'off days' its going to smell like flowers and food on your wedding day... and the GT room was beautiful...

I have never noticed a smell either. We are having our reception in the Briar Fox Room and I am so excited for it. It is dark but we are lighting the entire place with candles (which will be our centerpieces) and that huge roaring fireplace is gorgeous, I know it is going to look beautiful, elegant, and so romantic. The fireplace sold me

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I am so sorry about your experience w. FH. I am embarrassed for them. All I can say is that I have been treated like a princess every time I have gone there...and trust me I go for ANY reason. I don't think there is a 'musty' smell to the place. lol. Did u set an appointment w. the BM and explained to him that you needed to see th Garden terrace room? I know how you feel about the Briar Fox room. I personally dont like that room either. I am praying for an outdoor CH in March. lol. BUT remember its only the CH, not the actual dining room. I think you should go back w. an appt of course, and give it one last shot. best of luck! Hey, if anything talk to RON. He is FANTASTIC!!!!

I know what you mean on this one. Everytime I've gone, anyone I've spoken to at the FH has been nice, but also a little curt. They tell you they want to help, and when I ask about trading this for that, etc (something I feel is a reasonable request) they get a little snooty, almost. I love the place though so I am looking past it. Good luck!

LADIES!!!I'm officially BACK!!
Yay....but not so much cuz work sux

The Fox Hollow was AMAZING!!! We took pictures of everything!!!!!
The food and service were all FANTASTIC!!! Seriously, us and our parents must have gotten phone calls from everyone on our guest list raving about the food and how the waitstaff was so attentive and just how generally awesome everything was. We had Harry (who was amazing) as our Matrie-D and Renee (who was equally amazing) as my bridal attendant.
Any questions please ask....I know the Garden Terrace is a little less popular so I got the goods now for all the potential GT brides
:lol....I'm super happy!!! YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY!!

We're not going on one just yet. I took a bunch of days off work so that we could relax and just hang together and that was fun but since we may be moving VERY soon we decided to wait until we are settled to go on a honeymoon.
