Freaking out about DJ issue
So I emailed my DJ to ask them if they can loop a song around until everyone is down the aisle then start the song at a particular point for when I come down. They responded with 'I must burn a CD as to how I want the music played' and they said they can't stop and start a song. So basically I need to figure out how to loop a song over and over, burn that, then burn another CD starting at a particular point for me to walk down?!?! REALLY?!?! I'm so frustrated right now!!!!! Any opinions as to what to do?!?!

I'm not entirely sure if this will work but there's this website that lets you make your own ringtones by uploading a song directly from your computer and you can cut the music however you want. As long as the file is an MP3, there shouldnt be any reason why you can't burn it onto a CD. Again- dont know if it will work but it's free so maybe worth a shot?http://www.myxer.com/make/

That's a little crazy to me...I guess if you have to just make a playlist of the song over and over again and burn it. How to start it at a particular point I have no idea. I'd try to call them and work something out.

very interesting, what your asking your dj to do is exactly what my dj did for us. Are you dealing with the owner or just someone that works there?

a DJ by far should be able to do that to you....my brother is a DJ and does it ALL the time with a simple piece of equipment that every dj should have...that is ridiculous!

I would tell the DJ that you are paying him or her to provide the music and if Lu wanted to do it yourself you would not have hired a DJ.We also wanted to come in at a particular point and at our meeting at the end we went over it and they did it perfectly

When I met with my DJ prior to actually booking him this is one of the questions I asked him because I have a particular point I want my song to end at and my song for my bridal party to walk in to might be too short so I wanted to make sure they could manage the time. He said they could loop it or cut it however necessary. That's what a DJ is supposed to do! It's what you're paying them for. I would be equally frustrated, there is no reason you should have to do that and I would speak to them again about it.

uhm. yeah. i'm not sure what the issue is. The only thing our DJ asked us for was our wedding song. Honestly... its not a typical song and we have a certain version that we want. He said it would be easier if we can just bring it in to him. He's willing to get the song... but he said since we have a specific version it would be easier. We have no problem doing that. The fact that your DJ expects YOU to loop a song... is ridiculous. I'm not sure how that works!! I'd call up and ask to speak to the owner if you weren't dealing with him.

If you have a PC, I use Window's Movie Maker to cut all of my music. I teach dance as a part time job and have to cut a lot of my own music and it's quite easy to use. Play around with it for a little while, you'll get the hang of it! Best of luck!

They should really be able to do that I'm thinking they just don't understand exactly what you want and they want you to show them so they do it correctly. I would just clarify with them what they mean

That's insane! That's what you're paying them for, and if they are expecting you to do their job for them they're out of their mind!Welcome New Vendors
