Mine will start at 6:30, but we might put 6:15 on invites. What are you ladies doing?

We are saying a 6 oclock start for a 630 ceremony. This will give everyone a 30 minute window to get there

Question for you, did your RH tell you to do that or are you doing it on your own?

The RH suggested it and the few weddings I've been to where the ceremony was at the RH, they put 1/2 earlier than the ceremony start time on the invites...
It's your call, but I think a half hour is a good window!! let us knwo what you end up doing!

Re: Friday Night Brides...
We put 5:15 and the ceremony starts at 5:30, I'm afraid people will get lost or just be late, we are getting married at the RH so I don't want the ceremony to run late cause then cocktail hour will be cut short!

our ceremony is at 6 at the RH......i dont know what time to put on the invitation do that many people show up late?
Yes especially on a Friday b/c people have work. I would definitely put earlier on the invite.
Oh crapola.....I was figuring that not everyone was going to attend the ceremony so I wouldnt have to worry about that....I was figuring only close family would come to the ceremony and figured they would all be taking off the entire day.....Hmmm....maybe since its at the RH more people show up than if the ceremony was at church? I dont want to put 5:30 on the invite and then punish the people who show up early.....If people think the ceremony starts at 5:30 they'll show up at 5:00 or 5:15 and will be waiting for almost an hour!! I don't know whats worse - to have people show up late or have people complain that they are waiting.....
I went to a wedding last weekend. Invite said 11AM and I was running late and was like oh man we are late for the ceremony!! We got there like 11:10 and ceremony didnt start till 11:30. I was like wow that was a good idea so that people who run late (and a majority do) arent left out. That 20 minutes flew by and no one just sat and waited. We were talking and stuff AND to top it off people were still walking in as she was walking down the aisle.

It will seriously burn my biscuits if someone walks in while I'm walking down the aisle. I can already picture which of FH's friends will be the one to do it.

Re: Friday Night Brides...
I know we're not Fri night, but we're putting 1/2 hour early on our invites (getting married at the hall). The ceremony will start 11:30am sharp, but we are putting 11am. this gives people a window just in case they get lost, are late for any reason, to get seated, settled in, etc. also, our hall serves champagne with strawberries before the ceremony i believe, so people can take one and mingle if they are slightly early.
If you think 30 min early seems like too much, i think 15 is a good compromise
edit: just realized this was my 2000th post!
