Friday QOTD

Friday QOTD

What has been the most frustrating part of the wedding planning experience for you?

________________________

I have two.

1. FH has been divorced for quite some time. File an annulment so there could be a church wedding a year and a half ago, before we were even engaged. She recently fought it, in a very nasty way, and told many lies about him to the church, that are contradicted by sworn statements she has made elsewhere. So, we are not getting married in a church. It was sad for me, but in the end, we have a good solution. We are getting married at the venue, there won't be a big break in between the church and reception, and we have Pastor April, who we love.

2. The invitation process was a disaster. This was a vendor we were very excited about, but everything that could have gone wrong did, and our invitations went out super late. To the point where people were asking us if they were still invited, or B list, or whatever.

the unsolicited advice is annoying. I've started to simply agree with everyone and then do whatever we want when it comes down to it. can't please everyone!

I would say the 100% most frustrating and annoying task related to the wedding is SEATING. Coordinating the seating, figuring out the tables, and where exactly those tables are going to be, writing out the placecards, making sure you have them all, and then numbering and alphabetizing each one -- a project that is a sure pain in the a$$.

edited so it made sense

Unsolicited and unwanted opinions; RSVPs (is it really that difficult to put an envelope back in the mail???); FMIL (need I say more???)

Our most frustrating part was dealing with our church... our date was crossed out of their book at a point, we got a new priest like a month before the wedding, and it took 2340324 phone calls to get in touch with the music director to schedule our rehearsal dinner... we ended up not booking the restaurant until the week before the wedding!

RSVPs...both the shower and the wedding. My deadline is Sunday (technically tomorrow since no mail Sunday) and I have 59 people outstanding. On my end, my fathers cousins, who are out of state and I guess do things differently, like flat out refuse to send their cards back, even though they supposedly are coming. And on FH's side, there's a whole clan of 10 people upstate who are ignoring us, FMIL's 2 first cousins and their families flat out ignoring us...I'm ready to drop kick all of them.

RSVPs were the worst and FMIL was a close second.

RSVP's, FMIL, psycho ex-GF from over 6 years ago googling DH & finding our engagement notice & threatening to crash wedding, MOH & her total lack of help & whining about money the whole time when she was getting tenure & I was losing my job

I am in such denial about the RSVP thing. My date hasn't come yet, so I guess I don't fully appreciate how bad it can get.
