Friday's debate

Friday's debate

I have been watching this since it started. I know most of you are probably watching the yanks though.

I must say that Bush looks unbelieveably strong this debate... he is looking much better now than he did the first debate.

I said that the first debate was a draw... but I think even the general public is going to think Bush won this one.

I could be wrong. But he definitely looks a lot better.

I have to disagree with you. But I just don't like Bush. 'I own a timber company GOT WOOD' HAHAHAHA....

Yeah that was hilarious.

Well its closing arguements now. Lets see if the experts agree with what I said or not. I thought he looked VERY good this debate.

I was going between Yanks and the Debate- I don't know what I think- honestly I really should be writing a case study for my class tomorrow- there is TOO MUCH going on.

But I do actually think they both did well!

Edited to say- didn't Theresa wear that LAST WEEK? I hate that damn suit!

Oh god... they are gonna have Hillary Clinton and George Pataki on CBS2 now to talk about who they felt won.

I wonder who they will claim the victor will be.

Bush was definitely more composed then last week, it would be almost impossible not to do a better job. But although he may look better he still sounds like an idiot.

That's okay on NBC it is someone who is obviously pro-Bush.

Re: Friday's debate

God damm Hillary Clinton couldn't even come up with ONE good thing that Bush did well in this debate.

She disgusts the hell out of me. She shouldn't even be in the Senate. At least the other Democrats were able to Toot Bush's horn at least for one reason.... just like Republican John McCain and other Republican analysts were able to do on Kerry.

At least other Democratic analysts were able to say at least some kind words.

Hillary must go. What the hell has she done for NY? Absolutely Nada!

I thought he was doing a good job, but a few things disturbed me. First, the way that on several questions he just bullied his way into a response when the topic was suppose to move one. Now, I know that some people will view this as strength, but I don't think that a President should lose his head so easily. I also would have liked it if he had owned up to at least one mistake. I would not have cared if it was ' I had the fish instead of the chicken.' People, all of us, make mistakes own up to it!!!!! You invaded a country that had no WMD's and no ties to Osama just admit it and maybe I'd gain some respect for you.

As for Kerry, I thought he did a good job also. I would have liked it if he had explained to the public in more detail how easily it is to appear as if you have flip-flpoed on an issue. Most of us do not know the exact details of how a bill is first presented. I suppose it is like writing a book. There are the first drafts that are rejected and revised. Finally, you get to a manuscript that is accepted. It is the same with a bill. I don't think that alot of the public understands that it is not B&W.

Once again, I agree with you completely!
The fact that Bush couldnt' own up to one mistake really bugged me! I can admit when I make mistakes, why can't he?

Although, he was much stronger than the last debate...but as someone else already said...it would have been difficult to do worse than that one!

I agree, when that woman asked Bush to name three instances where he was wrong he couldn't think of one! He stated that people just want him to say Iraq but he wasn't going to. Not one mistake, what is he God!

He did own up to a mistake by saying he hired some wrong people (but wouldn't name them). Thats the professional thing to do. You don't slander somebody on national TV. I am sure one of the people he wished he could let go is Rumsfeld (no doubt).

He also owned up to the WMD arguement at the beginning of the debate. He said he wished he was right about the WMD in Iraq and wished he did find some... but he didn't.

Boy if he owned up to all those mistakes that why couldn't he just answer the question presented before him?

I love how defensive he gets about his alienation from most of the world. He always has to throw in how much Poland supports him. Thank God we have Poland behind us, now I feel better.

He was asked point blank to name three mistakes and I heard him name none. I just watch that segment again and he named NONE. He said that people down the road might say he made amistake and he would own that, but he DID NOT answer that question with one mistake.

I loved Kerry's remake about how if you took the number of people in Iraq from the state of Missouri they would be the third largest in our 'coellition of the willing'.

If you just watched it again... didn't you hear him say that he shouldn't have hired some of his (REPUBLICAN) aides? Were we watching the same debate?

Hell... I was mad surprised he even said that. That makes him look pretty bad because it shows that he surrounded himself with people that couldn't get the job done. This is the total opposite that the public originally thought when he was first elected (that they felt he did hire good people).

At the end he was asked to name 3 mistakes....he spoke only about 3 things he did well that might be percieved as mistakes...not the same thing
