I feel the same way and this is why I can't vote for Kerry. What is his plan? When is he going to tell us? Explain your plan already.
didn't he say it's on his website, so you can read about it if you want more information
Why should he have to plug his website? I didnt hear Bush say if you want more info, go on my website.

Although I have access to the internet there are MANY people in this country who do not. He should take time during these debates to discuss his plans. And reading it on his website is different then hearing him say it.

Re: Friday's debate
I think Bush did a much better job than n teh first debate. Twn Hall meetings are his strength, for sure. I think it was a draw. I can see why you could say one side or another won, but I think that's so marginal that it's a draw. I agree with Heidi's post 100%.
I kind of felt like Bush was Steamrolling, especaly when he didn't wait to be granted the 1 minute extension and overpowered the moderator. I really didn't like that at all. To me he came across as angry, agitated and stubborn, but I admittedly don't like him.
I think Senator Kerry could ahve donea MUCH better job, EXPLAINING things to the people isntead of making assertions all the time. Bush assumes the people are less intelligent than we are (or maybe in some cases, he's right on the money), and Kerry assumes that peope are smarter and more well-informed than most people are..so i thinka lot of people didn't know what he was talking about, and didn't understand why he voted agint the $87M, because they really don't knwo how bills are voted on and they don't kow anything about pork barrelling and other things.

Screw his website. In fact Screw Bush's website as well.
I want to hear the plan directly from the horse's mouth.
Not in the words of some trained aide (the same people that write these guys speeches - on both sides) on some damm website filled with political propganda from their respective party.

I started to watch but it gets boring after awhile. I guess Im not politically minded, but Bush did seem more organized this time.
The thing that annoyed me about Kerry is that he kept saying 'I have a plan for this and I have a plan for that' but he wouldnt elaborate. Whats the big secret??
I know, but you also have to realize that 2 min. is not enough time for either canidate to explain every nuance of their plans.
Then why bring it up? He should of had a brief speech planned on some of the basics rather than just saying 'I have a plan'
I think that both canidates did plenty of this. Bush's plans were as clear as mud to me same as Kerry's. I plan on doing research on both . In order to have more specifics you have to do reserch. Unfortunately, Neither one is afforded enough time to explain thier plans.

This is one of the negatives about that minute and a half rule. It should be a little longer.

I was shocked that Bush admitted that he made mistakes in some of the people he appointed.
Talk about dodging a question, what about Kerry's answer to the question about how does a tax payer know that their money is not going to abortions when they are against abortions? All he did was talk about why he is pro-choice. He didn't even attempt to answer that question.
I think he did answer the question, at least as much as any toher question was answered. He said that while he understand and respects her position, he doens't feel that the governemt should bring religious beliefs into it (I'm using a big parphrase here, because the actual wording he used evades me at the moment), and that he can't deny poor people the right to a freedom that is constitutionally theirs. His answer was that while he may agree that abortin is wrong, he has an obligation to uphold the constitution, even for the poor people. He could ahve been more clinton/bush about it and related more the to her. He's very cerebral, whcih works against him

You'd hear a LOT more about the plans if you lived in a swing state. Living in NY we're like the red headed stepchild of the candidates. We're just left out in the cold. I'd like to hear each candidate ahve the opporunity to make an hour long speech about his or her specific plans. I think that would calrify things for the voters.

Agreed. I actually hate what has happened to debates. They used to be much more interesting when the League of Women Voter's were running them. Now, it is run by the parties and the LOWV's have nothing to do with them anymore. All good debates need a woman's touch.

Oh please. You mean the 4 day infomercials we were subjected to over the summer? I was glued to them, but I learned NO policy at all.
I mean, that IS true, but at that point it's all rhetoric and propaganda, and no one is alking plans, they're talking slogans. And I think we need something at this point in the race. The conventions are ancient history by now, and many things we're hearing in the debates weren't even mention at the conventions. I want to hear a full hur of policy, not grandstanding and mudslinging. Is that too much to ask?

ETA: I think it's REALLY funny that i didn't even THINK of the conventions as having been that. LOL. It just shows how much of a departure things are form what they sould be

Let's be honest. The only way to know what each canidate is 'SAYING' that they are going to do is by doing independent research. The RNC and DNC and even these debates are all extremely limited. If you want to be an informed voter you have to inform yourself.

It seemed like Bush wasted a lot of time trying to be funny, and I do mean TRYING!
I am not much into politics, but I did think Bush seemed more human and approachable to me as just an average person even if his jokes were not funny...

Was it me, or was Kerry doing the Clinton 'thumb thing'? You know, as he spoke, he looked like he was changing the channel on a TV or something?

I HATE that stupid thumb thing with a passion.
Edwards was unanimously guilty of doing this during the VP debate.
Everytime I see it... I think of that idiot 'candidate for president of beers' for the Miller commercials. The one thats always debating the clydesdale.
What an idiot.

I'll tell you that I have heard the term 'Flip-Flopper' and 'Win the peace' enough to get sick to my stomach. I hate that the politicians play to the lowest common denominator. Then again working with the Public I guess I understand it.

Re: Friday's debate
One and a half minutes is not long enough for a candidate to explain their plans. You are not going to be able to find out everything a candidate stands for just by watching these debates. Even if people don't have acess to the internet at home they have acess to a library, go down get yourself a card and get informed. Newspapers, articles and books are also available, the American public expects everything to be handed to them on the idiot box. Do your own research, on such an important topic we all should.

Re: Friday's debate
Bush had me in hysterics at one point... 'If you're a mother and you get killed, your murderer will be charged with TWO murders!' gee, good to know. i mean, that is a great thing, really, but how he puts it is too funny!
