Frustrated.....bora bora looks amazing!

Planning a wedding is so frustrating!!!!! I was looking at destination wedding ideas last night as an alternative option. I LOVE the idea of getting married at the chapel at the Four Seasons Bora Bora!!! That’s where we've thought about having our honeymoon. Just the 2 of us....don't see many people up to travel that far for a wedding.

I feel soooo scatterbrained at this point....LI wedding, vfw wedding, destination wedding...all options are open.....and I have no clue which way to go. I just want something nice, a special day without breaking the bank so we can save for a house...Grrrrr....okay rant over, lol

I hear you! I wanted a 50 person brunch on the water and FH wants more of a party so $ we spend! even though I'd rather have a small meaningful celebration and buy a house :)

It is YOUR wedding. Have it where ever the two of you want to get married. I have a friend from HS who got married on the beach in Fiji just her and her husband. It was what they wanted.

I like to remind myself the majority of people remember the food, entertainment and drinks. If you want to have a vfw wedding, DO IT! Find a great caterer and bring the food in!

Keep in mind you don't have to please everyone!!

Sit down and both of you write down what is truly important in a wedding for you and what you can do with out. It will help to sort everything out!

We had to come to terms with not even going to Bora Bora on our honeymoon because the flight alone is insane! After looking into destination weddings, they are a bit cheaper since you aren't paying for everyone to get there, but that's a pretty far away destination! What about something closer? There are so many beautiful places to have a destination wedding. I definitely hear you on trying to save for a house, it's insane!!

It is a hard decision but you have to go with what your gut tells you. If it says destination- DO IT! This is a once in a lifetime experience and going to be a memory that lasts forever!

It's just so hard for me to justify spending $10,000 on a reception alone....for everyone to enjoy a steak dinner....I would rather spend that money on us as far as lasting things...rings..honeymoon...etc.

I can definitely understand and that is something definitely to consider but if it is your dream, I would do it. FH & I are doing/getting everything we want for our wedding and we are paying the bulk of it ourselves. We got some help from FFIL but that was it. We decided that we want the day to be everything we could ever have dreamed of (within reason) because it is a once in a lifetime moment. We are only in our late 20's and there is always money to be made!!

You don't want to look back on that day and have ANY regrets!

And I don't mean to sound judgemental...we are paying for this with NO help at all...in our 30's..looking to start a family...although I want my day to shine I feel it may be selfish in our grand scheme of things.

Fh and I talk about just going to Vegas and eloping almost everyday but what stops me is the though of not having my family with me. If you are ok with it just being you two. I say go for it.

I envy you! I'm TERRIFIED of flying so the fact that you're a flight attendant boggles my mind. I wish I could fly all over the world and not be so scared. Any tips?! lol
