Where were all the young people?

If I heard correctly only 10% of young voters made it to the polls.
What a shame
It will be a sad 4 years for our country.

MONKEYBRIDE I AGREE. I WENT OUT AND VOTED. IT ALSO DIDNT HELP WITH THAT TEACHER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAND IN VOTER REGISTRATION CARDS FOR HER STUDENTS AND NEVER DID. THERE ARE VOTES OUT THE WINDOW. WE WOULD AHVE BEEN BETTER OFF HAVING MICKEY MOUSE IN OFFICE!!!!! I VOTED FOR KERRY. BUSH DOESNT DESERVE TO BE PRESIDENT. HE HAS GONE TO WAR FOR NO GOOD REASON. IN THE WRONG COUNTRY ANYWAY. PLUS WHEN A DEMOCRAT IS IN OFFICE HOUSE PRICES GO DOWN AND WE DONT HAVE AS MUCH REVENUE IN OUR COUNTRY. WE WANT CHEAPER HOUSE PRICES. I AM SO DEPRESSED. KERRY SHOULD HAVE WON

I'm sick and tired of these random states (Ohio, Florida, etc.) deciding who wins. I wish Kerry hadn't conceeded yet. I wish he had waited until all the votes were counted!!

Ok, I think its time for acceptance to begin. President Bush got 53% of the votes in this country. You have to accept that and move on. If you guys reallywant to make change, it's not with the president anway, it's with congress.

If over half of the voters want him in office, that has to tell you want the majority of the country is thinking. They want what he has, for whatever reason. But don't worry, he only has 4 more years, then he will be gone.

Why are they random - simply because you don't live there??? That's a pretty silly statement.

The votes weren't there - if he waited much longer he would have looked like Gore did back in 2000 ('count and recount until you get an outcome that has me as the winner').

Kerry knows when to give it up..and thats a gentleman. I hope he doesnt 'WHINE' and works side by side with the president to create change..after all it really is the politicians with the power after all..you know the other people on the ballot that so many ignore and instead focus their attention on who will be president..instead of who will represent them in the office. A cumalitive effort and not one man makes decisions

What you should be saying is President Bush ONLY got 53% of the votes in this country. He should be ashamed of himself. NEVER in this country's history has a president EVER had such a close re-election during war time. During war time the incumbent has always blown away the opposition.

I think the fact that it was so close and the fact that 47% of our country didn't vote for him says a lot about him and about this war.

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON

Vicky, the election is not based on one issue. Do you think the war is all people voted on? Do you think that's why 11 stated banned gay marraige?

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON

cheers Cuban. Gay matrraige was definitely an isue that many did not support Kerry on as other issues..same for BUSH.

YEAH and you know what else? THOSE same idiots of the american youth who registered but decided not to vote are really SCRE WED b/c the republican Rep from Nebraska has proposed a bill to reinstate the draft. THE draft will include all MEN and WOMEN from the ages of 18-26. Why should I have to go!? I voted, THEY should have to go fight in a war that shouldn't be in a country that doesn't want us.

and this article put it best ''Thus, a cynical campaign has begun to dragoon many thousands of American youth, who are to be used as cannon fodder in an illegal colonial war, launched on the basis of lies for predatory aims that have been concealed from the American people.'

Bethsiar, don't worry. The bill will never pass. They need 2/3 of the votes and tghey don't have them, by a long shot.

I am not a fan of Kerry's per se, but did NOT want to see Bush back. He is an embarassment to the US. If Kerry had won, every single nation in the world would have done everything in their power to help him out. The rest of the world wanted Bush out, except um the plains and southern states...

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON

Well I am one of those that went willingly into the military..and would do it again. I got to see another country method of recruiting its military..mandatory for men to have some type of military experience and they do it with PRIDE..I was embarrassed to see the difference between the work ethic of so many of our soldiers in contrast.

We have many who are prod to be veterans but the truth hurts....Many of our troops do not do it with pride (many do it for the need of $$$ and education), and eventually the draft may return because many want the fruits of the labor but not willing to do the work or put their lives at risk. And this is not based solely on our present war situation but something I personally noted when I joined the military in 95.

Since when do we run our country based upon what other countries think? When did Russia, German, and whoever else become part of the US decision making team?

I do not feel that we need to ask permission in order to do what we feel is best for our country. There are no requirements like that for other countries.
