This is why i do not VOTE. say what you want but I never will
Hahahahaha.... agreed.... this is why I do not TALK POLITICS! It's inevitable that people are entitled to their opinions, but to sit there and debate with another stubborn person is pretty ridiculous to me.

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON
Correct me if I am wrong but, There have been 4 presidents re-elected during war time. Of them only 2 recieved a higher percentage of popular votes than Bush. I would not say that those results (other than Nixons) are 'overwhelming'
Abraham Lincoln 1864 55% popular votes
William McKinley 1900 51.7% of popular votes
Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1944 53.4% of popular votes
Richard Nixon 1972 60.7% of popular votes.
53% seems pretty good to me.

don't hide under ignorance, learn about the issues and get involved. we all have a voice and our vote is that voice.

imo, thats not a good excuse. how are you not 'into the whole politics thing?' it affects all of us and therefore we all should do something about it. i just don't understand your reasoning behind not voting, but i am not going to get on my soapbox.

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON
I voted for Kerry..and im kinda dissapointed in the rest of the country in just accepting Bush for another four years. I dont think he proved himself, and I think since its his last four years he is not accountable...cause once he is done he is done..and he wont care how he leaves this country for the next person to clean up. I'm willing to give him a chance to improve things, but I honestly dont see it happening.

keep in mid you are posting on a public forum and people will respond to what you say, whether you want them to or not. as soon as you post something, it is out in the open for anyone to read and RESPOND to, so i said my piece about voting and that is that. don't get angry at me for responding to your post, as i am entitled to do so. i respect your opinion, but don't ever tell me that i can't respond to your post because it was not directed at me.

Fine 'overwhelmingly' was not the best term to use. However, according to CNN at this moment Bush is 51% and Kerry is 48%...which still makes Bush as having the worst percentage of all of the presidents you listed above.

Re: GEORGE BUSH WON
wow... Reading this post reminds me how divided our country really is. To be honest, I was one of those young people that did not vote. And the reason, was simple. I did not want EITHER of them to win, I knew one of them would, and so...
I am as dissapointed that Bush won, as I would be with Kerry. Though he mislead us w/ Iraq, which is unfair, atleast we know where he stands in regards to our foreign policy. I feel safer to know that he is proactive. Kerry's reluctance to explain where he will get the money from for half his ideas, is disturbing. Where would he get the money? probably by raising taxes and cutting defense budget - since he doesn't believe in it. With Bush, at least we know from experience how he feels about defense, and protections. And, it doesn't look like he will be raising taxes.
However, with Bush it really bothers me that he doesn't confess! Tell the public that Iraq was a personal vendata! That is what he should do, he mislead us during the time he still wanted to run for another term, now, that no more terms, how honest will he be? And, the fact that he does not find anything wrong with the way things are at Iraq are bothersome. Clearly things need to be changed, for the better, yet he seems to think they are 'peachy'. So, that is my position on that... that is the reason I did not vote... and now can not say that I am the reason he is the president...

cheers Cuban. Gay matrraige was definitely an isue that many did not support Kerry on as other issues..same for BUSH.
I actually think that given the many more important issues going on domestically and internationally that it is very sad that some Americans chose to use their vote as an opportunity to DISCRIMINATE against people that are not like them. And truth be told I think the issue of civil unions had a lot to do with the majority of votes won by Bush.
