GET 2 KNOW U- DAILY TOP 5!!! Books.

What are your fave books? I mean, until all you read was Bride's magazine and contracts? And no, Us Magazine does not count. Although, don't you just love the trashy mags??? Who wore it best!!! And People blows. If I wanted to know about regular people, I'd actually have a conversation with someone. Please.

1. Atlas Shrugged- Ayn Rand. LOVE her. It's a hard read, and truth be told, I skipped the 60 page monologue in the back each of the 15 times I've read this book. But it's still the greatest of all time. However, you will never look at people the same way again. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

2. The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand. Similar to the above, but it's sort of a primer for Atlas Shrugged. It's a good blueprint for her philosophy. AWESOME book.

3. A Prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving. I had to reread the beginning of this book a million times to finally get into it, and I'm so glad I did. I love John Irving! I will also add to this two more of his- Cider House Rules, and The Hotel New Hampshire.

4. The DaVinci Code- Dan Brown. I know, what a cliche, but I seriously think this is an a$$ kicking book. I enjoyed every minute!

5. The Count of Monte Cristo - Dumas. I love a revenge story, and this is the best ever. Even though it's old, it doesn't matter. What a great story.

6. The Lovely Bones- Alice Sebold. The greatest book I will never read again. I was flying somewhere once, and needed something to read. I roommate suggested this. I asked her if I was going to cry, and she said no. Fast forward a few hours, and I'm borderline hysterical on a window seat of a crowded plane, with no tissues and a serious case of gross face.

7. I Am America and So Can You- Stephen Colbert. I would marry Stephen Colbert right now if the opportunity arose. I just love him to death.

8. Catch 22- Joe Heller. Greatest war book ever. A little wierd, but I think that is what gets his point across.

9. Bridget Jones Diary - Helen Fielding. Am I writing this because I love the movie so much?? Maybe. But I love it. And it bothers me when at the end of that movie, and Zellweger is running after Darcy in her underwear, and she's supposed to be heavy in that movie. She 'packed on the pounds' for it, as they love to say, and meanwhile, any fatty who runs in the snow in those underwear would be jiggling like a jello mold in an earthquake. She did not. So I don't know why I loved that movie so much, except for maybe that her hair looked like crap throughout.

I know I have a million more. I miss reading- it's been too long. I've been drowning in Exclusively Weddings catalogues for too long now.

1. Circle of Friends- better than the movie and i LOVE the movie

2. American Psycho- also better than the movie

3. A man without a country- Vonnegut- nuff said

4. Queens Noir- awesome short stories centered around different Queens neighborhoods

5. A Tree grows in Brooklyn- A favorite of my mothers passed down to me and now a fave of mine

1. The Tales of Eva Luna...Isabel Allende..her story telling cannot be matched..

2. The Count of Monte Cristo!!! OMG me too...I cannot begin to tell you how obsessed I was with this!!!

3. The Chronicles of Narnia...for a million reason..the main one being ASLAN!!

4. Breakfast at Tiffany's..and all the short stories in that edition...I have read it 100 times..b/c the Holly Golihtly of the book is an evil wench...lol

5.Edie...the biography on Edie Sedgewick...something so heartbreaking and addictive about The Factory era!!!

6.From Beirut to Jerusalem

7. any poetry by Miguel Pinero...he leaves me speechless!!!

8. The Alchemist

I have sooo many I could make this list go on and on...

1. Somewhere off the coast of Maine by Ann Hood (I don't know if I would even love it now but when I read it, it was just the right time)

2. Colors of the Mountain by Da Chen (this is an autobiography about a boy growing up in Communist China but reads so much like a novel I kept checking to see if it was non-fiction.

3. Anne of Green Gables ( I know, I seem to be like 16 today but if you grow up with red hair there are SOOOO few heroines and no one wants to pick Annie)

4. Mama Day (by Gloria Naylor. . i love, love, love this book)

great question but so hard...I am a HUGE Stephen King fan but here are 5 others that i LOVE LOVE LOVE

1. The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne...love this man and all his work

2. Animal Farm - george orwell...read in school and ALWAyS loved it

3. Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck

4. The Eragon Trilogy...have fallen hard for them...lol Chris Paolini

5. Anything about NIXOn...I am obsessed with this man and have read anything I can get my hands on about him...including Kissingers million paged memoirs!lol

i LOVED this book as a young girl..still have a gorgeous hard copy of it!

I love to read! Was reading Last Lecture but still haven't finished it! Some of my favs not in order of importance:

1. Bridget Jones' Diary- read it even before the movies, just pure hilarity. And then they go on and cast 98% sure judging by the Swiss records books cousin Renee in the movie? Sweet.

2. The Master and Margherita- Who doesn't love Russian lit revolving around the devil?

3. The Godfather- see RH

4. Angels and Demons- far superior to The Da Vinci Code IMO

5. The Da Vinci Code- still really good, and brings back fond memories of torturing zealots in college.
