Getting Discouraged
Ok Ladies I need your help. After checking out many waterfront venues, I have come to realize that my dream of a summer nautical wedding just may not be in the cards. After the price quotes and figuring all the add ins I want, it will be around 60,000 and I just cant do that. (I have to admit I am a little picky and have this 'vision' which I just cant seem to kick) So now my search will have to start all over again.
I would love some suggestions and quotes for places not on the water. Prefably where they only do one wedding at a time (but this isn't a necessity) and anytime of year from April-Oct.
HELP!
Thanks :)

I'm biased, but I fell in love with Thatched Cottage because of the beautiful view it has! It has the same view in all of the rooms, so you'll see the water at all parts of your reception. They're one wedding at a time, which was important to me. It may not fit the nautical theme perfectly, but it's definitely waterfront and won't cost you $60,000! Good luck!

Have you tried looking at Sunset Harbor? From what I've read they're inexpensive, gorgeous and waterfront!Might I also suggest The Mansion at West Sayville (waterfront AND next to the maritime museum) and TOTALLY affordable! As well as Timber Point Mansion. Both are LESSINGS!
Talk to Steve at West Sayville. He's the only manager there and he's wonderful! If you'd like I can FM you the quote I got from him as well as Sunset Harbor :)

Did you check out Chateau La Mer? They're not one wedding at a time, but they're very affordable AND waterfront. You even come in on a yacht!Sunset Harbour is also on the water and inexpensive.

Giorgios is absolutely gorgeous and its not right on the water but they take you on a golf cart down to the water to take pics. One wedding at a time. Woodbury country club was also really pretty its 2 events at a time but completely seperate and they have man made lakes on the property really pretty. Also Crest Hollow Country club the grounds are gorgeous and if you do a day wedding they are something like 60pp.Less than that off season.

How about Swan Club? They are on a lake and from what I understand very affordable (they do however host more than one event at a time).Switching to April will def get the price down a considerable amount from the summer.

I did try chateau la mer. And to be honest, it seems silly, but i hate their chairs, & dont really like the cocktail space should the weather not be good on the day of. I am really looking to to go no further then 30 minutes east of massapequa because the church will be in massapequa & most family is coming from queens.edited-spelling

What about Lands End or Flowerfield? They are farther than you're looking to go, but it could very well be worth it.

I did. I actually went there last night with high hopes and left very annoyed. I made an appointment last wednesday, for 6pm yesterday (monday). I was told they close at 7 so if I could get there a little early that would be good. Well I show up about 5:30 and I walk into the office and the girl is staring at me like I have 3 heads. She tells me that I do not have an appointment and no one was there. I explained exactly what I just said about getting there early blah blah blah. Well she called some guy Matt ( I think that was his name) and he told me he was sorry he forgot he had to go out to dinner
SO the girl gave me a quick tour, literally no longer then 15 minutes and didn't know any specifics on the place. She called the guy back and he told me that they do not give food tastings, and the prices he quoted me were SO much higher & less was offered then any place else I looked. To be honest, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like if you cant keep an appointment and remmeber to write it down how can I trust you with my money & my wedding. I had heard really good things about this place but it just rubbed me the wrong way & was very disappointed in the outcome.

Riviera was nice, and affordable, and right on the water! It doesn't have a nautical theme, but I think that you could make that happen with your flowers, decorations, bridesmaids dresses, and all the other touches you put on the wedding yourself. We really liked Riviera, but it was too small for our wedding.Lands End may be a little far for you, but it is so beautiful, and you have the option of having your ceremony on the beach! It does have a sort of nautical theme.
I saw over 30 venues, if you have any questions about anywhere, I may still have the quotes, send me a FM with any questions you have!

Lombardi's on the bay and the sound are really nice and I reasonably priced. The sound is actually really beautiful and it right on the sound has a great view.
