Re: Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I see people with amazing results on paleo, which is basically eat protein and veggies, no refined wheat. Carbs are ok like in fruit but just avoid processed carbs and I think most grains on paleo.
I found that personally when I really stopped with junk snacks it made a huge difference. Like I said to myself 'I'm not going to eat dairy' (because I liked snacks with too much of that) and I snacked on fruit, edamame, hummus and veggies, etc and I got rid of 5 lbs.

I would also say weight watchers if you are willing to pay for something. But nothing beats exercise and looking very closely at what you eat!

this is true! weight watchers is exactly that, it looks closely at what you eat and teaches you to eat a balanced diet. But if you aren't willing to pay for something it's really just a support system that you are paying for. Paleo is really popular right now there are a lot of websites you can find tips and recipes.

I almost signed up for WW because it's soooo hard to be good when you live with a fiance who is eating doritos lol!
But yeah hopefully everyone can get back on track after all the Christmas cookies and everything!

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I love weight watchers. I have been on it since June and have lost 34 lbs. I work out 3x a week and have seen a steady loss.

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

My cousin is a fitness nut and I messaged her about a cleanse. I'm also thinking about incorporating Bikram yoga once or twice a month.

I had a salad for lunch today - so unsatisfying!

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I have started dividing food into the serving sizes. This way it is easier when I am packing lunch for work and then keeps me on track instead of overdoing it.

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I've been counting my calories on myfitnesspal. com. It's worked for me in the past (lost 20 lbs), but I stopped doing it and the weight creeped back on. I could never do the paleo or no carbs diets, I love my pasta and bread too much - plus I'm prone to migraines and not having carbs & some sugar makes them occur more frequently for me. FH & I also have a punching bag and weights to work on with. Just do everything in a healthy way and you'll be fine :)

You need protein in the salad to be satisfied. Try adding low fat cheese, a few nuts or grilled chicken.

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

Myfitnesspal app has been working good for me and now just found another app runtastic which syncs my exercise with myfitnesspal app. So I don't have to enter how far, how long or how fast I am walking, and how many calories I burned. It does it for me,

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I just started going to the gym and no matter what, pushing myself to do at least 5 miles on the treadmill, even if it takes a while. Just need to get through it! I also find that whey protein shakes after working out are helping to repair my muscles and get me leaner.

Getting married in 5 months and need some weight loss tips!

I had a nutritionist a while back that told me weight loss is 80% diet and 20% gym. It helps put things into perspective. Like if I'm having a bad day, I'll have an easy day at the gym (or maybe even skip if I'm tired.) But I never ever cheat on my diet (not with my wedding this close anyway.)
