Getting married right after graduation...

Sorry if this is a double post, I'm not sure if the last one worked. I graduate from law school May 23, 2010 and planning my wedding for June 25, 2010. I'm wondering if anyone else has planned a wedding right after graduating and if it's been successful or if anyone is planning and how they are going to manage. I'm worried that with finals and graduation only a month before, I will not have enough time to focus on the wedding. Also, I'm worried that I'll be stressed from not having a job. Since it's important we chose a date soon, I'm wondering anyone else's thoughts. It's easy to say to just push the wedding back a few weeks, but there's something about that date that is just perfect. So, I'm stressing... Any thoughts? TIA!

I got married 2L summer because I didnt want to deal with potentially moving, studying for the bar, etc the same summer as my wedding.

I do have a friend getting married June of his bar summer, but his fiance is doing all of the planning.

Edit: they are also waiting to take their honeymoon until after the bar

Did you book your RH yet? June is a pretty packed month usually.

Also, all my lawyer friends waited until after the bar to get married so they could focus on studying, and not honeymooning and writing thank you notes.

I have my RH on hold.... no down payment yet, but they know I want it on the 25th. Also, I don't have to take the bar because I am in WI with the diploma privilege so no worries there :)

I am getting married early August 2010 and I'll be (hopefully, haha) graduating law school the previous May. We have another family wedding that June and anything earlier than August would have been too close in time for traveling relatives. I decided to not to take the bar that summer but to wait and take it the next time it is given, I am going to need a serious break after law school and I think a wedding and honeymoon will hopefully give me that! I think if you can study for the bar and focus on that in addition to the wedding you'll be fine having it in June if you put off the honeymoon, although I would rather have the wedding sooner, the stress would get to me. If you think you'll be looking for the kinds of jobs that will allow you to start closer to September though I would recommend August for the wedding.

Edited... because I didn't see the thing about you not having to take the bar after graduation.
In that case, I think you're totally fine in June, and I'm insanely jealous, haha.

I'm getting married 2 weeks after my med school graduation, so I'll let you know how it goes. I was able to schedule my boards early and I'll be done with all parts of my Step 2 by January.

Don't neglect your finals for any wedding stuff. I had a friend last year who was getting married prior to Step 1 and she was always diffusing wedding fires prior to her test and she wound up failing and she won't be graduating on time now!
