Im a little confused by this as I never even THOUGHT to get them gifts. I was going to get them something cool from Rome or Greece (My HM) but a wedding gift???
Do you all see it as necessary?
Help me out with this, and if you are or are not doing it.
Thanks, as always!

Re: Gift for your parents????????
Yes I bought gifts for mine and FH's parents... Even if they werent helping us pay for the wedding its only right... IMO They are your parents you wouldnt be who you are if it wasnt for them... To me its a point of respect and love and THATSA what getting married is about... Sharing this special day with the important people in your life and I thought it was only right to get them presents as well... I also bought his grandmother a lil something as a token of our gratitude for all she does as well... And shes VERY special to him so again I felt it was only right... =)

If your parents are paying for your wedding or even a portion of it then you should get them a gift!!

Re: Gift for your parents????????
I think we are going to get frames for them and put an engagement picture in there. We are also going to make them albums (not through photographer, through some other company as yet to be determined). Though we're mostly paying on our own, I like the idea of giving them a little something to say thank you for being great parents. Nothing huge, just a $20 frame and a picture.

Re: Gift for your parents????????
Our parents both paid for the wedding for us so we got them both gifts. They both needed new computers so we saved and bought them each a new computer and printer.

Re: Gift for your parents????????
We paid for the wedding ourselves with a little contribution from my parents which was much appreciated. We got gifts for both sets of parents to thank them for all they have done. We bought a digital frame for my parents (on which they had wedding pics the day after the wedding) and we got a gift certificate to a restaurant for FH's parents because they already had a digital frame.

Re: Gift for your parents????????
We got my parents a new flat screen tv, but it was a combined birthdays, mother's day, father's day, retirement, and wedding gift. So, really...it was probably only 300 dollars that we spent on a wedding gift for them.
I'm not sure where you live, but your parents are close to Northport, the John W. Engeman off broadway theatre is a great gift. It's about 120 dollars for two tickets...and the shows are really great. Just like broadway, but without the hassle of going into Manhattan.
