Go ahead, vent about phrases you're sick of hearing!

Original post by cleokizzy

'you're inviting me, right?!' - i'm sick and tired of hearing this! plus i'm getting tired of saying 'We haven't finalized the guest list yet' too!

'Oh, I talked to so & so today and i've invited them. They said their coming.' from my mom & dad. - AGGGHHH! i really do NOT want to invite someone i barely know dad! mom! just because they saw me in my diapers doesn't mean they KNOW me!!!

'why are you getting married in August?! you KNOW the kids have school by then!' from my OOTC (out-of-the-country) guests - uhm, excuse me? we picked a date because it is special to US (*ahem* the bride & groom?). if you want us to reschedule it for YOUR convenience, we'll take sponsors then... How much can we put you down for?

'How much are you planning on spending on ________?' - why do you care?! oh, my bad, are you looking to be our sponsor too?

and just for kicks, i think this should be added as well

'You're checking account has overdrafted because you spent too much on wedding things' - well, they didn't say that verbatim... and technically it only happened once and i've been pretty good eversince!

Before the wedding I couldnt stand:

'You have plenty of time'

'you KNOW im coming'

Since the wedding is over all I hear is

'How does it feel to be married' & 'when are you having babies'

im sick of answering these 2 questions....

Why are you wasting so much money, wouldnt it have been better to go to vegas and use the money for other things?

You have plenty of time..........No I dont. All of these things have to be paid for. Unless you are going to write me a check shut the Fu*k up.

2011 wow. Why so far away...I give them the same response as the above

Pre wedding:

How soon afterwards are you planning to have kids? You can't afford to wait to long.
....uh, really? I'm a professional woman with an MBA from a top program, I obviously prioritized other things in my life and am 31 and still need to settle into my career for another year AND maybe, just MAYBE I actually want to enjoy my husband for a year or two.

The reception is on Long Island? How will I get there?
Get a life or get a metrocard. Seriously. If you can't drive yourself/rent a car then just don't bother coming. So annoying, lots of these people didn't even give us a gift so we would have been better off without them. All they did was complain about travel and then not even give us a card.

Post Wedding:
When you are you guys having kids?
....we've been married 3 months. Seriously.

I keep hearing:

1) When are you going to send out save the dates?

Um, I see you almost every day, you live within fifteen minutes of my apartment, and you know exactly when the wedding will be cause I've told you a hundred times and yes, I even sent it to you in an email. I'm sorry I thought I could save money on this.

2) I have not been updated with the status of your wedding planning:

Hmm... I'm sorry I'm not posting a daily log of everything I've accomplished related to the wedding for your review.

3) Can you change the time of the ceremony to later in the day so I dont have to wake up early? (my wedding is in the afternoon)

No! I cannot. The ceremony is at 11:30am and I cannot talk to the venue to change the time. The majority of my guests live within 20 minutes of the ceremony/reception hall so they will not be making a huge sacrifice to get there. And no, so stop asking me this

since i had a long engagement it was always 'oh why so far away' or 'you have time'..... most recently an aunt of mine told me 'why dont you just get married in a firehouse?' when i told her i was getting low cp's to cut costs... ugh. (and she was saying this to be mean)

Re: Go ahead, vent about phrases you're sick of hearing!

the number one thins for me when I got engaged was...
'It't about time! ' - we were dating for almost 8 years

now it is - Why are you having such a big wedding? - we guaranteed 225 at the hall and are inviting about 300 (dont ask me how we are going to afford this.. we still haven't figured that out lol)

and..
Did you pick ____? fill in the blank.. in the begionning it was did you pick a RH, now its did you pick a color scheme... did you pick a dress...

HOLY S*** people,... do you want to plan my wedding for me? lol that's what I want to tell them... b/c then they give me suggestions.. if I want suggestions I will ask!

If ive had a $ for every ' IT's about time' when they hear about the wedding i could probably pay for it by now.... we have been together 8 yrs

I know how you feel. We have been together for 7yrs

we were together 10 1/2 years when we got engaged and will be 12 1/2 years when we get married..... our eparty theme was 'it's about time'
