Good idea???????

Good idea???????

As some of you may already know my FH just found out that his grandfather will not be able to come from Italy to attend our wedding. He is very sad about it, and last night my mom suggested maybe suprising fh by having his grandfather record a message on video in Italy, and having them play it on the plasma screen at the reception.

Do you think its a good idea?? I am going to call his mom tomorrow and see if anyone they know over there has a video camera.

Absolutely, I think it's a very touching and special thing to do for your FH. Especially since your hall comes equipped w/ this TV. I'm sorry to hear his grandfather can't make it, but he'll be there in spirit, and now via video!! My Sicilian family cannot make the trip, either, so 'I feel your pain.'

Thanks girls! I just hope I can keep it a secret! lol
I am going to try to find out if its possible asap. Worse thing since I still have some time I can ship them my dvd camcorder thing and have them ship it back... I dont think fh will even notice its missing.

Tha is a grat idea. Just make sure if they are usuing a regular video camera (tapes, not digital) that it is compatible here or just be prepared to have it transferred)

This was done at my friends wedding. His extended family from Italy couldn't come here so they made a really nice video tape which was played at the reception. It was a hit and people are still talking about how touching it was!

Make sure that the video/DVD conversion from Italy to America is correct if not, you'll have to find a conversion store to convert it.

There is a place on Grand Avenue in Maspeth that does it ... it's an Irish-Catholic store.

Thanks for the tip!!! I was thinking I could send them my camcorder but what if it breaks or gets lost in shipping
Plus if the battery dies they wont be able to charge it over there..
